At least sometimes.
Limited choice of dishes, more limited choice of wines, spartan chairs and tables but great care evidently put into raw material selection and cooking. Fantastic location at the end of the budello and really by the sea.
Fish&Chips brought at a dignity, incredible.
You will pay 30-40 Eur for an entry and a main course, drinks excluded

It is a very apt metaphor, the no nonsense three wheel miniature truck parked comfortably in the very small restaurant. Spartan but cheerful tables and chairs, minimalist decor, the focus is on high quality ingredients cooked quickly and deftly. If you like fresh fish and shellfish prepared in half a dozen straight forward ways, this restaurant should be on your short list. There are only a couple of wine choices, but they are good ones. The prices are modest, reflecting the no frills delivery and ambiance.

I'm pleased to see they are making it through the lean winter months, and should survive and thrive as foot traffic and their reputation increases. Today we opted for dessert: only two choices, a semi-freddo with nuts and a tiramisu. Both were of high quality, as was the espresso.

If the young staff maintain their commitment, they will hold their own in a competitive marketplace.

The chef and staff know what they are doing and have created a cheerful little place with a passion for quality fish and shell fish prepared with some creativity and panache. Talented chefs and attorneys are not known for their modesty. It takers some nerve and audacity to open a new restaurant within yards of two established powers, Sail Inn and Panama. Still, it is an intelligent move. They have created something a little different, informal yet sophisticated. Fairly priced for the premium ingredients, you will find some clever riffs on Ligurian tradition and a knowledge and skill in using flavors and spices from well beyond the region.

Other reviewers have correctly pointed out that the choices of food and wine may be limited, but there are daily specials and it would be foolish to expect a wide range from a tiny kitchen. Trust the chef and your waiter and you won't be disappointed.

Alassio has enough generic restaurants. We are glad to support a place with some genuine character.
