We had a perfect week at matevulu lodge, lulled by the sound of the waves. The bungalows are magnificent, the common area very well equiped, Gaelle and Edouard very attentive and the lodge is well located, 20 minutes drive from Luganville, close to 2 magnificent blueholes. Go for it as soon as possible !

We stayed over Christmas 2019 for a little escape. The lodge is a perfect little secluded paradise on the bay. Three spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated bungalows spaced along the shoreline with a little beach in front and 180 degree panoramic views over the bay.

The communal sitting area is also beautifully decorated with comfy seating, dining and kitchen areas where delicious breakfast (included) is served and which you can use to self cater for lunch and dinner, and has more of that incredibly beautiful view!

Gaelle and Edu are so unbelievably kind and helpful and go to great lengths to look after their guests. We had little gifts on our porch from Santa on Christmas morning :)

The area is so stunning and away from the main town of Lugainville. Crystal clear water, little white sand islands and next to two blue holes. You can take the kayaks out from the front of the lodge and kayak up river into the blue holes or over to one of the deserted islands.

I have spent 5 nights at Matevulu Lodge with wife and our two very young daughters aged 3 and 1, in April right around Easter, and my only regret is we were not able to stay there longer! This place is an incredible gem of tranquility and confort, making you feel like you are on your own paradise island, with everything you need for a great family (or couple/friends ) holiday. Gaelle and Edouard were great in making sure we arrive with all we need to their lodge, and gave us just the right level of attention and help we were after. While it can feel a bit daunting to make your way around Santo, you are in such good hands with them, making the whole thing very easy. The bungalow we stayed in looked so new and fresh, with comfortable bedding and all the space we needed, with the ocean literally three steps down our deck. This sensation of sleeping rocked by the sounds of the water is simply priceless. With this amazing bay do swim and snorkle in, kayaks and paddle board at your disposal complementary, the proximity of the blue holes and nearby sandy strips of tiny islands, the option to learn freediving on site at Edouard’s school, the number of things to do are limitless. And if you just want to chill and live the sopsop life, the common bungalow where you can cook your own meals when it suits you or sip a beer staring at the view is the place to enjoy. If that was not enough, the local family of villagers caretakers, living on the property are just adorable and gives you an extra touch of what life is in Santo!! Again Gaelle and Edouard, thank you for everything and we hope to come back soon! And as I am writing these lines, I am sorely missing your yummy breakfast with these incredible home made jams!!!

Room tip: All the bungalows are beach front so it is hard to go wrong!!

We spent 4 nights at Matevulu lodge and it was a very nice place to stay.
The bungalows are lovely : comfortable and with nice décoration. It is working with solar energy which is a good thing as well !
Each bungalow has a private terrace directly on the beach, so lovely !
Then you have a nice common area where you take your breakfast, you can cook or just relax !
Gaelle and Edouard, the Owners, are very welcoming and helped a lot about what to do around !
It is a really nice and affordable place to stay when you want to visit Santo.
