We stayed in Casa Tinasoria for a week in March 2018 and really enjoyed our stay. The villa is in a lovely and peaceful location with pretty views of the coast and a short distance to restaurants and other amenities. The pool and hot tub were great for relaxing, and Gonzalo was really an excellent host, around to help when we needed it, and leaving us in peace and quiet as we needed it. Good WiFi too! Only feedback would be that a slightly better heater would be good for winter stays in the small apartment as there is no other heating! Other than that, would highly recommend!
The apartment complex is excellent. If your looking for peace and quiet this is perfect. The facilities. pool etc are also perfect. To sum it up if your looking for a bit off paradise without the cost this is a place id recomend. But be aware that you do need a car as the complex is out off the way from all shops etc. Also the owner gonzalo is a real gentleman. He cant do enough to make your stay that bit better. He keeps everything very clean from the apartments to the pool to the washing machine available for use.
Pros: The accommodation and outside was all very clean and the beds were comfortable. Gonzalo must work very hard keeping the place up together and he is very friendly and willing to help when needed. The heated saltwater pool is amazing even when it is cold and raining as the cover makes it useable in all weathers, like wise the hot tub is a big bonus especially when the weather is not so good or in the evenings when it turns cold. The views are also amazing just about in every direction. A hire car is a must as it is a short drive to the new marina down the road which is very nice. This place is quite central so it is a good base to explore the island.
Cons: We first stayed in the accommodation for two which smelt very much of cigarette smoke which was my fault as I hadn't read the listing properly which stated that smoking is allowed, however I think he has changed that now as he was putting up no smoking signs on the doors. As next door was empty at the time Gonzalo kindly let us move into the larger apartment which didn't smell of smoke at all, that is until we lit the fire which smoked a bit making the whole place smell of smoke. Perhaps the wind was blowing in the wrong direction or a log burner might be a better solution. There is no kettle and no electric oven but if you want to fire up the log burning one I would imagine it would be fun but my wife wasn’t keen. The BBQ looked good too but it was probable just too windy when we were there. There is a washing machine outside which looked new and did the job fine. I think most of the problems we had were more to do with the awful weather we had ie. cold, very windy and very heavy rain and hail. I imagine a cold sitting room and bedroom are a blessing when it is hot but we were really cold even with the electric fire on all day, the big gaps at the bottom of the outside doors didn't help at all. A real black mark for us was the lack of TV, the only English channel we could get was Sky News, the rest were in German and Spanish. Luckily we had the lap top which we managed to watch a few things on, but the internet is not reliable here as it kept saying limited, I don't know if that is down to the owner not having an unlimited connection or not. This place seems a bit disjointed to us but would be good for a larger family to have the whole place. There is also a steep ramp down to the pool area which is not ideal. It might be a good idea for Gonzalo to put in some steps running down the wall as there is room for them. You can however walk round missing the ramp.
The description for this property is not at all clear and needs more clarity. They need to say the pool is salt water and also that you could be sharing with the people in the adjoining accommodation and that Gonzalo lives above the bigger property which looks over you. This is not a problem as he is out to work most of the time but if you are like me you will want to know what to expect. You might also wish to know that used toilet paper should be put in the bin provided. Weighing up what you pay and what you get I would say Gonzalo is being pretty fair but he could make some simple improvement that would make it better.
Although Gonzalo didn't speak English nor us Spanish (I know, I am ashamed and will learn more for next visit) he made us feel immediately welcome and showed us around, how to work the hot tub, the pool.. Amazing what you can get across if you try! Leaving us with a detailed map with recommended restaurants and supermarkets too.
A real beaut of a place, stunning views, really truly amazing. Altho a little chilly in Dec I can see how you would be pushed to leave the poolside I. The warmer months.
Quiet and out of the way, perfect hideaway if you prefer to see the real Island.
The accommodation inside was basic, or perhaps a better way, rustic certainly no complaints at all. The outdoor living areas are spacious with hot tub, cooking areas, loads of seating and pool, all you could want really.
We were left in peace for our stay which is what we wanted but had a phone number and were encouraged to call with any questions.
In all a delight to stay and wouldn't hesitate to recommend or re-book.
