Stew Robertson took us out for the day (9 to 3) on his boat. We were lucky to be off-season and had Stew and his boat to ourselves. He showed and told us so much about the ecology of the bays around Marahou. He is deeply knowledgeable and committed to his work, showing us life from the smallest rock dwellers to a seal running across a secluded beach. Without doubt the highlight of a trip to South Island that was full of highlights. Many thanks, Stew

It was a cloudy day and the sea was seriously choppy but Stew who took us looked so confident that we felt absolutely comfortable on the deep sea with waves that felt like a free fall!
Very interesting information and the views were mind blowing!
The tea/coffee/hot chocolate was so welcome when we got off for a break at mosquito island so was the yum cake , as we were chilled!
The ride was exhilarating! And the sighting of fur seals and birds were excellent
Well done Stew!

Stew was both an excellent host and an excellent sharer of knowledge. He brought the 'real' Abel Tasman alive with his entertaining and conservation-focused tour.

We had such great trips with Abel Tasman Eco Tours!

We took part in the Golden Future Tour (guided boat tour through Abel Tasman National Park) and the Promised Land Tour (guided walking tour through Abel Tasman National Park off the beaten track). Stew and Fay were our guides on these tours and shared their endless wisdom about the national park and it's nature with us.

Abel Tasman Eco Tours is a fantastic Tour Operator that literally walks the extra mile for their customers. The brilliant service, the vast knowledge of the area and the ecological details of the flora and fauna are endless and there is always a smile on the guide's faces.

On top of all that we were provided with lovely morning tea (or coffee or hot chocolate) including cake at the most scenic spots you can imagine.

I would always recommend booking a trip with those guys. You will definitely not regret it.

We did both the boat trip and the land tour, but I'll concentrate on the boat. Stu the guide/owner's in-depth knowledge of marine biology makes the trip both a beautiful day out and an informative one. You'll visit some great beaches, take a short hike or two, and come out smarter than when you left. Seeing flounder the size of your thumbnail and learning about estuary ecosystems was great, and almost as impressive as the big tractor that takes the boat back to shore at low tide.
