Fabulous location and accommodation just a short stroll from the National Park

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 3 Mar 2024
Fabulous location just a short walk to the National Park, cafe, kayak hire & water taxis. Owners are very welcoming, provide a good overview of Marahau, can assist with bookings and have a refreshing, friendly take on household notices. Accommodation was spotless, spacious, comfortable and has a lovely outdoor setting overlooking the garden. Communal kitchen is well equipped and a good spot for meeting other guests. Highly recommend a stay.

Room Tip: Book direct, ask for tips on things to do and consider a mix of self-catering and dining out.

Wow! Abel Tasman Lodge is one of the nicest places we've stayed in. Scott & Jocelyn can't do enough for you, always on hand for help/advice on everything and will book any activities you want. We've just spent 4 nights there and can honestly say we didn't want to leave. Scott & Jocelyn have got it so right! We stayed in a studio lodge which was perfect for us, plenty of room and cupboard space and immaculately clean! We loved the outdoor seating area as well: a great place to chill out after a day's walking/kayaking etc.
We also loved having the use of the communal kitchen, which is kept spotless and is really well equipped. It's also a great place to meet and chat with other guests.
We also loved the location in Marahau; perfect for getting into the park and the water taxis and kayak hire are right on your doorstep. There's also the Park cafe/bar/restaurant and Hooked cafe/bar/restaurant within walking distance and we can't not mention The Fat Tui if you want a great burger or fish & chips! All in all Abel Tasman Lodge gets 10 from us!

We had the most amazing 4 night stay here after travelling around NZ . The accommodation is beautiful, peaceful and of a very high standard . There is a fantastic kitchen which is well stocked for guests to use also laundry facilities which was really useful . Scott and Jocelyn were fab hosts with so much local knowledge about the park and walks . Nothing was too much trouble . We would certainly stay there again if we were in NZ and would highly recommend.

This is a beautiful place. The hosts are wonderful and have great suggestions of what to do in the area and can help with booking. Much quieter area and a short walk to the entrance of Able Tasman National Park. We stayed in a one bedroom chalet and it was very spacious. Everything detail has been thought of. They have access to a private beach across the road. Not crowded and lovely.

Lovely accommodation right on the edge of the National Park. The apartments are very modern, spacious and clean and you can easily prepare evening meals if you wish. There are restaurants in the village of Marahau although we did not check them out. Lovely hosts who will make sure you have a comfortable stay. Good facilities on site too if you need them. This is a perfect place to stay if you want to visit the National Park which I would say is a must! Take the water taxis and explore the stunning coastline on foot or by kayak. A magical place.
