We stayed at the Abel Tasman Lodge for 2 nights in January 2018 a few days into a driving tour of the South Island. We weren't sure what to expect but were very pleased and surprised by the Lodge. The welcome from Scott was warm and helpful. Breakfast in our room on day 2 was a tasty precursor to a long day walking on the trail, sadly only out and back for about 12 miles on this occasion. The trail starts a few hundred yards from the Lodge gate. The Studio was perfect for the two of us and I would say that modern, large and well equipped are good descriptions. Great shower. We did not have air-con in our room and our stay coincided with some really hot summer weather, but the fan and opening windows with fly screens did the trick for us. We were able to prepare a light meal - salad etc - in the Studio which had a micro wave. Free WiFi and good TV channel choices very welcome. The room outlook across a small private terrace is something you can stare at while contemplating the world. Lots of birds wandering about to entertain. I wish we had booked to stay longer and if our travels take us to South Island again this Lodge will be on our list of places to stay for sure.

First of all - super friendly owners and excellent communication.

Next - a great location, short walk to the local beach, plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby and a short drive from many of the tour companies that take you into Abel Tasman.

The accommodation was clean, with excellent amenities. The owners provided a basket of toys for our youngest to play with. The hot tub is a great bonus!

    Great spot, highly recommend.

Situated just on the doorstep of the beautiful Abel Tasman National Park, this lodge is perfectly located for exploring all it has to offer.
Hosts Scott and Jocelyn were really welcoming, friendly and helpful and have created a wonderful place to stay.
The standard of accommodation was excellent - very spacious, comfortable, and well equipped. The chalets were beautifully decorated and each had a deck overlooking the lovely peaceful grounds and scenery. Watching and listening to the birds was a delight.
We stayed for three nights and if we ever get to return to New Zealand, would definitely come back to the area and specifically Abel Tasman Lodge. It was one of our favourites during our five week trip and we would thoroughly recommend it.

My wife, 2 kids and I spent 4 nights at Abel Tasman Lodge in a two bedroom cabin.
The room had free wifi, a pleasant outlook over a horse paddock to the hills beyond, an excellent bathroom, nice compact kitchen with all the necessary kitchen equipment, a heat pump and comfy beds. There's a nice spa on the grounds which can be hired for an hour.
The lodge is right on the doorstep of the Abel Tasman Park with its stunning coastline supporting a myriad of activities - hiking, kayaking, sailing etc. and is only 100m from the Aqua Taxis and Kayak hire places. The 3 restaurant/cafes in the area are all a short walk away.
The owners Jocelyn and Scott were wonderful hosts who were only too happy to advise on what to do.
The place to stay in Marahau.

    Room Tip: They're all good

ATL is a small, rustic, family-run lodge on the edge of Abel Tasman National Park. Owners are very friendly and glad to help guests have as pleasant a stay as possible. Rooms are adequate and clean. Lodge has a guest laundry, WiFi and TV. The highlight of my stay was a spectacular night sky full of stars just outside the back door due to the lodge’s remoteness. Lodge is convenient to the park trails and kayak rentals.
