The villa is set in a small village and so is very peaceful. You have a real sense of privacy and seclusion to get away from it all. The locals were very friendly, smiling and waving as we passed, making us feel comfortable and at home. There are many options to dine within the village itself, walking distance from the villa and since it is not the heart of the tourist hot spots, the prices are very reasonable and the food authentic. The village also has a petrol station, a few take-away dining options, a convenience store, a supermarket, some bars and an ATM. Most of the bars/restaurants here are small and do not accept credit cards though, so advisable to take enough cash with you. You will need a car if staying here and within a 20 min drive you are at the stunning beaches that this part of the Island is famous for, as well as a huge waterpark, bars, restaurants etc.
The villa itself is truly stunning. It is set on a lovely plot with plenty of trees and plants etc. to give it a real tropical feel. It is spotless and very spacious. We were a group of 7 including kids and there was enough space for everyone to do their own thing. Lovely seating areas around the villa for some alfresco dining as well as loungers by the pool. Also a balcony to enjoy the wonderful views of the village and watch the sunset. A very well equipped kitchen as well as TVs, DVD players and DVDs, a good WiFI, toys and a small play area for the kids etc – we really could not have asked for more.
The hosts are some of the most friendly, warm and generous people we have met. From the booking process where we exchanged a lot of emails (to make sure everything would be ok for the kids) nothing was too much trouble. They couldn’t have been more helpful or responsive. On our arrival (at 4am!) they arranged a hot breakfast for us and provided some basic groceries to help on the first day. They even hosted a traditional Cypriot BBQ for us at the Villa which was a truly memorable experience. All in all they made us feel at home from the minute we arrived, never imposing, but always there if needed. They truly deserve their Tripadvisor certificate of excellence!
Best selfcatering villa we have stayed in. Nothing to fault simply perfect, from arrival to departure nothing is too much trouble. The villa is very well furnished and equipped and spotlessly clean. You must hire a car and from there it is 15 minutes drive to the best beaches of the island.
We all enjoyed a great week at the beautiful villa. The house had everything we wished for and the location was perfect for us. The roads were very quiet and driving was very easy. The local restaurants were amazing and it was good to sit in the garden with a BBQ too.
We had a very warm welcome and freshly cooked cooked food even though we arrived very late at night . When we left the pastries we were served were just amazing and completely unexpected.
We will definitely be returning.
Thank you very much
We were at Villa Sofia in August.
We were greeted by the very hospitable owners who made us feel at home. The welcome basket with fruit and a bottle of wine was a nice detail among other things.
Very beautiful, spacious villa with palm trees in the garden next to the swimming pool.
Me and my wife had a lot of fun playing with the kids, ( 4 and 11 years old ) ,in the swimming pool. The kids were always busy ,either playing in the pool or watching a movie from the extensive DVD collection .
We really liked eating our breakfast outside under the grapevine shade .
Tourist spots such us Ayia Napa and Protaras were only about 20 minutes drive.
There is a supermarket, bakery, cashpoint and nice restaurants nearby.
We had a great time.We miss it already.
