All the shops (not that there are many), were closed as it was mid afternoon. Still, we were free to wander around the abandoned buildings. Didn’t get to see inside the cathedral, but it looks lovely from the outside. Would recommend going before noon when hopefully things would be open

This is an amazing place. The basilica is a must see. Crowds were at a mimmium so we were able to enjoy the choir, mass and the Black Madonna. Please take the time to visit this area.

Travelling back from the Grotto is Zuddas, and came across this abandoned village. Apparently the 'new ' town was built a short distance away. Beautifully preserved, and a pleasant walk. Looked like there should be shops and restaurants, but everything was closed the day we visited. Looks good enough to be a film set.

I don't know the history behind this town but I visited the Basilica and the atmosphere, at night, is unique. At 9pm it was still open and inside it's just amazing. I recommend vising it because it really gives you the Sardinian spirit: simple, no frills but just amazing!

A little treasure in the middle of the historic center. Beautiful ancient church with great characteristics. Built to last!! Worth a visit!
