This apartment is absolutely fabulous!
Great location - near to beach in quiet side road. Super pool with loungers Close to bus route to both speightstown and holetown
Restaurants, bars and shop nearby
The apartment itself is clean, fresh and stylish; very well equipped and kitted out - towels, snorkels, plenty of kitchen ware and a local mobile to use
Collis, the apartment manager, is super helpful; the housekeeping staff are efficient and friendly and the owner is just great to deal with
As I said, absolutely fabulous!
Situated off the main coast road, Ashanti is a secure and well built building of 9 apartments. 1 Ashanti was clean and tidy with plenty of space for 4 adults. We were met and made very welcome despite our late arrival on a Sunday evening. The shared pool was secluded as was the nearby beach. Communication with the owner was easy. She was very responsive and helpful. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble. I would recommend this apartment without hesitation.
We just returned form renting Ashanti Apt 1 from Nov 13 -23 rd inclusive. We had the most amazing vacation here in Baradados. The apartment is lovely very clean and everything you need is available.. Collis the property manager was wonderful and very helpful. The beaches very conviently located within walking distance and the Regge buses take you anywhere you wanna go... Will definatly be back.. Thank you Baradados for a great family vacation..
We just returned from a wonderful family vacation at this very nice apartment in Gibbes and would highly recommend it as an excellent value. It is in a a safe, quiet area and the apartment had everything we needed, even snorkeling gear, beach chairs and a child floater ring! The starter-sized bread, eggs, milk, juice, etc. provided by the management were very much appreciated as we were travelling with children and could wait until the next day to do the shopping. The local pay-as-you-go mobile phone that comes with the apartment is convenient and it was easy to top it up at the supermarket or gas station. The local apartment manager and cleaning lady were very pleasant and did a great job. We only had to contact the manager once and he arrived promptly at the arranged time the next day to fix the WIFI and answer a couple of questions we had. A few things that are good to know 1) It is a bit of a walk to the beach if you have small children or older people, but it is a short drive 2) We could not find dishwasher detergent in any of the stores even though there is a dishwasher in the apartment, so you should bring your own 3) There is no air conditioning in the living areas (only in the bedrooms) and it can get quite hot in the afternoon and evening hours especially if you are using the oven or stove. 4) The WIFI does tend to go out for a few hours at a time. Overall we loved it and hope to return again soon.
The apartment was clean, comfy and well equipped. We were provided with a welcome pack of essential goodies, plenty of towels, snorkel kit, and a local mobile phone for emergencies and to contact the manager, Collis. A housekeeper was available twice a week. It was a 10 min stroll to the most idyllic beach. It was our first time iin Barbados and we were bowled over by it. Be warned, though, the cost of everything was enormous and self-catering isn't a particularly cheap option. The Jordan's supermarket iin Speightstown is cheaper than the one in Holetown. If you want to eat at home I suggest taking your own dishwasher tablets (we found none to buy) and a potato peeler!
We had the pool to ourselves most of the time, as only two other apartments were occupied. It was at the end of a quiet road, with excellent security - although it always felt very safe anyway. An absolutely brilliant holiday!
