“Lovely stroll”

Weston-Super-Mare Beach

Needing more exercise, we went to Weston beach to walk. Car parking along the promenade is £6 for four hours or £10 for the day!

We decided to park off road in a side street for free, and gained more steps towards out daily quota

The beach looked so clean & recently "combed" had it been less windy( quite cool breeze) we'd have walked onto it....but instead walked briskly along the prom towards a cafe for coffee.

Plenary of public toilets (all required 20p entry) but very clean & maintained.

This beach is quite remarkable. The sand is very well cared for by the local council and always clean. To stroll along this beach at tides edge is a total joy.

The beach is lovely we were there this weekend just gone my disappointment was it was a very hot day and no deck chairs also I have never seen so much rubbish on a beach people should be fined for such disregard of our open spaces
I don’t know if this is usual that’s why I gave it a 3 rating plenty of cafe bars and loved the sand sculptures Brilliant

The day we came to the beach unfortunately it was a wet and rainy day, there wasn't many people out, the vibe was dead and the sand was so wet. It didn't stop a few others playing on the sand in their wellies, however we weren't in the right footwear and quite frankly didn't fancy it, so we opted not to. The next day thankfully was bright sunshine, busy, buzzing and loads of people were on the beach and the atmosphere was great. We had great fun on the sand, the sand was soft and its accessible which is great. Whether you have a buggy or a wheelchair the sand is completely flat. So you could easily get right to the sea. This is great as on many beaches the sand is on a slope where you go down to the sea, so getting to the sea was hassle free.

The only think that freaked us out and had us all screaming was that right near the sea were 100's of holes in the sand and worm looking things on the sand.So I'm assuming that some sort of sea worms created this. And there was all this black bits on the sand right near the sea, but if you looked closely they were actually loads of tiny creatures. So because of this reason we didn't really play in the sea much and chose to sit further back and make sandcastles.

There are lots of shops, places to dine, shop/stalls on the beach selling your usual bucket spades etc. There were also donkey rides, however I didn't agree with the whole idea of donkeys on leads standing there waiting to take people on rides all day everyday. To then leave at the end of the day in a big container on the back of a truck with about 5 donkeys in it..in my eyes thats abuse and exploitation and shouldn't be allowed.

There is also a mini golf place and a small high ropes zip lining course for kids/adults to do, which looked liked fun and a place called Funland which was an outdoors theme park. Overall its a great fun day out on the seafront and there is a lot for kids to do here. The food was also surprisingly very cheap, Victorias cafe. We bought 4 portions of chips (that come in a bowl) for £5, bargain. Other places around all seemed to have pretty reasonable prices aswell. Usually anywhere near a beach bumps up prices and charges extortionate prices. Not here.

This was a nice beach to visit and we will certainly be returning on another hot and sunny day!
