We stayed in Treetops which was comfortably big enough for all of us. Particular highlights were the hot-tub, wood-burning stove and massive, massive tv! The place was really well set up for living, eating and socialising together. We stayed in February and were hugely impressed with how the under-floor heating kept the whole place toasty.

I can't speak for anybody else's bed but mine was very comfortable. There seemed to be room for between 3-4 people, I'm not sure why... The place is absolutely silent at night and there is no light pollution, so you get a really good nights sleep.

All the kids loved the feed-run and farmers Nick, Fiona and Amber. There were loads of interesting animals to see/feed. The alpaca, Jacobs lamb and deer were especially popular. Collecting the eggs was the competitive event of the day, the sprogs could get quite heated during this.

The only thing I would say about treetops is that there is no door between the lounge/diner and the front hall, or the front hall and the utility room. Not a problem for us as our springerdoodle sleeps in a cat-box, suspect it was a bit of challenge for our friends who have a big lab who would normally get shut in a room to sleep at night. Do be aware as well that dogs are not supposed to go on the sofa or upstairs. Again, pretty easy for us as the springerdoodle can't really reach the sofa, harder for a bigger dog if they are not used to such a strict routine!

Handy tip 1. there is a basic shop in the reception that does emergency odds and ends in case you run late and miss the shops on the way down.

Handy tip 2. check your arrival time. We were late and I think Farmer Fiona suspected that we had driven into a hedge or something because we didn't think to ring...

Thank you for the lovely review and it was a pleasure to have you all. On the note of the lack of doors downstairs, we do have a few portable stair gates we could use across the utility if needed. Sorry if I seamed worried on your arrival, I actually do worry about people being late and not finding their way, it's pretty well hidden here, a benefit once you know your way! Our little lamb is still doing well despite the cold conditions.

Just come back from a long weekend break, very friendly family place.

Love the animals and beautiful country side.

Farmer Nick really knows who to keep the children happy on the feed run.

A MUST STAY!

What a lovely place to stay. Nick and Fiona are excellent at running this little farm and treating children and adults to a 'hands on' experience with farm animals. With quite a lot of education too. We have been twice as a family of 5/6 adults and 1 child and have enjoyed every moment. We would recommend this place to anyone and everyone

We have visited Coombe Mill twice with our two pre-schoolers and we are looking forward to our next visit. Coombe Mill is simply magical! A beautiful setting with so much for little ones to do and explore. The daily feed run is wonderful and is always the highlight of our trip. The children love helping to drive the tractor, as well as feeding the animals and hunting for eggs. Our daughter loved the play areas, mud kitchen and fairy garden as well as the daily train ride and the activity hour on Friday. There are great beaches and lots of places to visit nearby too. Nick and Fiona are so welcoming and helpful. A perfect family holiday destination!

We have been three times (1 winter, 2 summer). Perfect place to go with children. Fiona and Nick are very friendly and charming. We have been in three different properties. The cottages have toys for children and they are cozy. Great playgrounds, animals and atmosphere.
