Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.

Fabulous views, stylish house, not for the unfit
The house is a very stylish Victorian property set over 4 floors. As other reviewers have stated, there are 41 steps up to the property and carrying luggage up to the property is not for the faint hearted! It would not be suitable for anyone with health issues. The bedroom is on the 2nd floor and the bathroom is on the floor below so be warned that nightly trips to the loo involve negotiating steep wooden stairs. There is a lovely decking area attached to the bedroom, but we did not eat out there as the kitchen is 2 floors below and negotiating the steep stairs with food could be hazardous, but it is lovely to sit out there and enjoy the marvellous views. The sitting room on the 1st floor has a wonderful view across the harbour and town and there is also a balcony. I would recommend this property for the fantastic views across the town as long as you have a reasonable level of fitness.

Stunning views and lovely inside but access and neighbouring property appalling.
The location of the property and views are perfect but the adjoining house can only be described as derelict, which detracted from the property rented. Windows were missing and many pigeons were living in it and although the house appeared uninhabitable, there was a television on in the evening! The access to both properties is via many steps which are in poor condition and with overgrown vegetation. In parts there is no handrail, which is also the case with the steps to the front door of the property. Taking luggage, and walking up and down the hazardous steps was difficult and no warning of this was given. We were guests at a wedding and when fellow guests saw the outside appearance of the property, they were horrified. Fortunately the inside was clean, tidy and comfortable. The bath and the views lived up to my expectations.

Unique Views
Well maintained Virctorian building with outstanding views of Ilfracombe Harbour and the Bristol Channel. Not for the unfit or infirm as there are numerous steps to the property and four floors inside. The layout of this unique building lends itself to the location overlooking Ilfracombe. The views from the lounge out to harbour aloow you to watch the cahnging views of the working harbour with out leaving your seat. On sunny days the decking outsdie the bedroom is ideal for al-fresco dining. The large walking shower will invigorate you after walking the hills ans steps of the town. Short walk to the harbour or seafront. With resturants and pubs literally on the door step. A wonderful prperty and I would thorughly recommend this for a couple

Coburg Villas
This is a superb Building spread over 4 floors. The decoration and thought into the guests needs has not been compromised in any way. Light airy private. Is superbly equipped. Be aware there is 44 steps up to the property. But the climb is well worth it. We definitely recommend Coburg Villas.
