Arrived in brilliant sunshine, bright blue sky, met Kenny and Kim who showed us around their superb comfortable accommodation. The house has everything you need, is warm, bright, cheerful with lots of space to relax and chill. The location is good and the people in the village very welcoming and friendly. We only had 4 full days there but the car was parked up the whole time and we were out walking every day. It snowed all day Sunday which just added to the sense of peace and quite. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit and if you want comfort peace and quite and good walking either on the tops or in the glen then I commend Strathclare house.

“A fantastic Scottish get away in a beautiful area of Scotland”
Reviewed 31 December 2014 for a stay in December 2014

Strathclare House is a modern beautiful house set in a gorgeous part of Scotland. The owners were there to greet us and showed the seven of us around the house. It contained everything we needed for a Christmas holiday. The woodburner was an excellent addition, the kitchen was well equipped and each of the rooms, including bathroom/shower rooms were beautifully made up. What we all liked particularly was the open plan from the living area to the dinning table to the kitchen, where everyone felt involved. The house is situated in the village of Kirkmichael with a village shop and a hotel/pub within a 2 minute walk. Everyone we met was friendly and provided lots of information about the area. The log cabin hotel was a good twenty minutes walk in the countryside with stunning views, including seeing deer and other wildlife and is an excellent place to stop and have a wee dram or something to eat. The Ski resort of Glenshee was only a thirty minute drive, which was great but unfortunately there was very little snow for skiing during our time. There is a river at the bottom of the garden which at this time of year was very fast flowing, so if you have pets be careful. It is great getaway for family and friends and the house owners were very welcoming. I would recommend this rental to anyone who is looking for a Scottish hideaway. Thank You Strathclare house for making a wonderful Christmas with family and friends.

“A stellar experience that made our vacation a lifetime memory.”
Reviewed 15 August 2014 for a stay in July 2014

We had a fabulous experience with our stay at the Strathclare House in Kirkmichael with Kenny and Kim [--]. They are lovely people and the house was perfect.

The house was everything promised and more. It is located within walking distance of pubs, restaurants, a store etc. with a brook in the back yard. Quite private, everything in brand-new condition, conveniently located near hiking trails (we loved the Cateran trail).

Also for a Distillery tour we recommend a beautiful drive (25 mins) to the Edradour Distillery, the tour is great and the drive is spectacular.

Lastly, Kenny and Kim were wonderful hosts, showing us around the place and explaining everything we needed. We highly recommend the Strathclare experience, and certainly plan to return in the future.
