Description: Merrie Gardens Farm on the Isle of Wight combines pretty country pub and restaurant under one roof. Charm and character go hand-in-hand with modern interior design and comforts. A big beer garden, stone and brick walls and a lovely thatched roof create a stunning setting for summer drinks, lunches and dinners. There's an open fireplace, wooden beams and chairs upholstered in brocade fabric. Perfect for cool autumnal afternoons and cosy winter evenings. Slide into a booth or sink into one of our comfy chairs and enjoy a pint of real ale or a glass of wine from our well-stocked bar. Enjoy a dish made from the rotisserie chicken we prepare and flame roast in ovens on full display. Once you detect the aroma, you won't be able to resist the prospect of crunchy crisp skin and delectably succulent meat. For a traditional taste of Britain, take a look at one of our classic mains. Merrie Gardens Farm is a child-friendly pub.

After visiting here the menu is getting worse for vegetarians. I wanted a hot dinner and was faced with the choice of fish and chips or scampi. Where has all the nice vegetable tartes gone? I don’t always want a salad. I can’t eat a curry due to allergies. Please look at your “New” menu and have some add ons for us vegetarians as there are more of us than meat eaters nowadays.

Good location for families with young children. Head directly to the back and there is a small ‘play area’ using the term loosely.

Arrived on a Sunday night and there was plenty of availability.

Really liked it here, stayed for a week at lower Hyde caravan park and decided to eat here for my dad’s birthday, really nice, good menu for adults and kids, clean, plenty of space, family area to back of restaurant with an under 5’s area so they can play, all in all good value,

Came on a busy Sunday evening and we were seated quickly which was great, however no explanation as to if it was table service so I popped up to the bar. Menu is big, maybe too big for a Sunday considering the sheer volume they do. Ordered tacos with chicken, got tortillas but that’s fine, just no jalapeños as stated on the menu and already made for you where as with street food you should build your own. However the only thing hot on the plate was the corn on the cob. Service is very casual, no check back to make sure food is ok which in a chain like this you think would be paramount to get it right in what I can imagine is a huge investment for them.

Fabulous food at great prices! Menu has so much on, it was difficult to choose! Rotisserie chicken is a MUST and is great value :)
Our waitress did mess up one of our tables orders which the manager was very apologetic for and because it was late (hence no chicken left to re-do meal) He waivered the fee for this meal (great customer service)

We were that impressed with the food and service that we came a second night on our holiday and will make sure we visit again on our next trip over to the IOW.
