Take an original century old steam train south from Douglas to Port Erin. The quaint little rail car with upholstered seats passes through picturesque rolling hills and a tunnel or two. Locals wave from their homes and streets.Get off along the way at one of the small towns or go the entire distance to Port Erin on the train. One may choose to take a bus back and see the southern area from a different perspective. Either mode of transportation, steam engine or bus on this southern route enables one to visit Ruskin Abbey, The Old Grammar School and/or The Nautical Museum. We purchased our interchangeable tickets at the Visitors Center in Douglas. Had time allowed our tickets would have permitted us to go north on the electric train. It is a very unique and charming way to see The Isle of Man
