We stayed in The West Wing in Douglas IOM for 10 days
An oasis of calm in a busy world.
Very quite and peaceful even though you are in the middle of a city
On waking up there is a relaxing view of Rhodeddren and many large beech trees from the master bedroom windows.
Corner shop 5 min down the road for those essential supplies, Shoprite 10 min drive or the Tesco across town is a 15 min drive.
Well equipped kitchen, satellite TV, and a comfortable large king size double bed,
10 min walk to start and finish of the TT track or a 15 min walk to the seafront promenade of Douglas.
Plenty of places to eat, many of them specialising in locally caught seafood.( Lobster, crab, scollops, or mussels.)
Have a meal and see a show at the local Gaiety Theatre in the evening
Lots of things to do on the Island from long walks around the coast, to steam trains to the south, or vintage electric trams to the mountain or the north. and a horse drawn tram along the seafront promenade
Prices compare favourably with mainland UK many of the big name brands are in the main shopping street
For a holiday at slower pace of life I would recommend staying in The West Wing and a wander around the Isle of Mann on foot, by Bicycle, Motorbike, or Car.
