Arrived at 14.30, Sue was waiting to welcome us to the Miclaran, a nice warm welcome, which was lovely.
My Father loved this place, especially the costal path walk, and after losing his battle with cancer last year, my mother and I decided to visit as the Miclaran as it holds some good memories fo us.
This is a really nice, clean, well run B&B situated in Shanklin, most rooms have a gorgeous sea views and the guests are restricted to adults only which is also nice.
Breakfast was really tasty, lots of fresh fruit and yogurt, the cooked breakfast was partly grilled which was good for my weight!
The supplied shower gel, and moisturiser were very nice along with tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms.
On the negative side the rooms could do with black out blinds, remember an eye mask! also I struggled to get the WiFi to work but not a major problem as I had my mobile.
We had a lovely holiday and I highly recommend the Miclaran.
Thank you guys, keep up the good work Sue and Alan, hope to see you in a few years :-)

Room tip: Room 3 has black out blinds and a great view :-)

Hi Ivan
It was lovely to see you and your Mum again, so sad to hear about Eric, but I'm sure he would have approved of your visit and we are pleased that you both enjoyed your stay again.

Your room has curtains in with a blackout lining but perhaps not dark enough- we do face East, so we face the sunrise, and of course we have had beautiful hot sunny weather. Lots of our guests love to be woken up with the natural sunlight.

Give our best to Stella and we will see you in a couple of years and I'll have an extra set of blackout liners ready for you Ivan!

Kind regards

Loved my stay here. Had a double room with a sea view and the view was incredible. Loved going to bed and waking up looking out to the sea and the bay. Beautiful garden again overlooking the sea. Perfect place to sit and relax during the day or in the evening.

Room was comfortable, spotlessly clean and had plenty of tea and coffee which was replenished every day.

Bathroom again was clean, no bath but a shower with 2 shower heads. Either the water pressure wasn’t very good or the shower head needed de-lime-scaling but didn’t have a huge amount of water coming out. Wasn’t a problem for me but could have been better.

Hosts were very friendly, welcoming and very helpful and part of what makes this place such a great place to stay.
Breakfast was great.

I’d definitely recommend this place and would stay there again.

The hotel is located at 3 min by bus from shanklin station or 10-15 min walking. The garden offer a beautiful view all day. View of sea from the room and full tasty English breakfast are very appreciated ! Alan & Sue are very kind and was available for any requests. We enjoyed our stay and don't forget this address for a next time!

Have just returned from a short break. Alan and Sue are wonderful hosts. The views from the garden are stunning and a great place to read or just admire the view. My room was spotless as was the rest of the house. Breakfast ample and wonderfully cooked. Would I go back again.... a definite yes
