Just cone come back from Beecroft lodge, another fabulous holiday. Scott and vicky looked after us, and all the requirements for covid19, are in place, felt very safe and secure there. Once again the breakfasts were fantastic, and we also decided to have one of their home cooked, evening meals. Cottage pie, vegetables and gravy, not only was it fabulous, it was massive, real value for money. No problem parking your car, plenty of space, and only a few minutes walk to the main town. Where you have the main bus and train station. Also the main station for the steam trains, and ferries. Lots of places open, and no problem getting a table for a coffee or a meal. Really looking forward to our next stay. Scott and Vicky are fantastic hosts, and nothing is to much trouble, for them

Stayed for 2 nights.
Were met by the hosts and explained about the area and sites to visit before we went to our room.
The room was very clean and spacious.
We took up an offer of an evening meal on our second night and was not disappointed.
The owners are very passionate about there establishment and showed through our stay.
Would not hesitate to stay again.

Lovely room. Very clean premises. Plenty of sanitiser etc. Breakfast is in two sittings to allow for social distancing. Plenty of choice for breakfast, which is freshly cooked. The breakfast is brought to you rather than self service.
You have the option of an evening meal at an additional cost.
Rooms are not serviced at the moment due to the current situation. But you can ask for extra tea, coffee, milk etc. And towels are changed mid week.
There is parking on site but it is very cramped. And you might not be able to get out once parked up. Although you can park on the road without problems.
This premises is up a steep hill. So anyone with walking problems might find it difficult.
The seafront is about a 10 minute walk away.

Scott and Vicki Dackombe, Owner at Beecroft Lodge, responded to this reviewResponded 20 September 2020

Thank you for your review and we are pleased you enjoyed your stay with us. I would like to address a few comments in this review. Firstly, rooms are not serviced due to government guidelines stating that we are not to enter any guest rooms during their stay.

To ensure that guests still have everything they require, we have arranged for extra supplies of tea, coffee, milk etc to be given to all guests during breakfast. Towels are changed every 3rd day, unless of course a guest wants them changed more frequently. This is done by guests placing used towels in the bag provided. We then deliver fresh towels in a sealed bag and leave them outside the door.

Your comment regarding cramped parking is simply not accurate. We have a car park at the front and rear of the property, and all spaces are larger than the average size space you would find in a car park. The only time that you may have an issue moving your car would be if the front car park is full and a new guest arrives and parks in the middle of the car park to ask directions to the rear car park. If this happens, we ask the guest to move the car immediately, so no cars are ever blocked in.

I can confirm that we are positioned 120 yards up a hill, which would cause a person with mobility issues a problem. However, most guests find our location perfect (our TripAdvisor location rating is 5/5). We are just a short 10-minute walk from the centre of town, buses, train, seafront, restaurants etc, but far enough away to be in a quiet, peaceful location away from the hustle and bustle of a busy seaside town.
