My boyfriend and I came here during our staycation and we were very impressed. The staff were very helpful and we appreciated their recommendations for local eateries and bars. The rooms were clean, stylish and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and the restaurant and bar area were beautiful. Very happy that we came here.

Wonderful stay for 2 nights in room 302 (family suite with slipper bath) stunning

Breakfast was fantastic each morning in the amazing MPW restaurant

Service was met by very professional and helpful team throughout hotel, reception team were incredibly nice and welcoming each time you passed through.

Situated just over Elvet Bridge 5 mins walk to main square and 10 mins to cathedral- perfect location to explore city and beyond (we drove up north coast to Bamburgh & Warkworth one day)

Would definitely recommend

Room tip: Don’t miss the stinking restaurant Parking £16 a night

What a great place this was! Very atmospheric and charming. We had a standard room but you wouldn't have thought so - so large and comfortable and a great size bathroom too. Staff were friendly especially the barman in the Rotunda bar (though drinks very pricey....!!) but what a lovely space!! Central to all other bars and restaurants too - can't wait to return in the future!

After a 3 year gap we returned to the Indigo Durham. As it was Regatta weekend the hotel was full, so no Spire Elite upgrade was available, but the front desk were apologetic for this. It wasn't an issue as the room was beautiful - comfortable and stylish. It's a shame the Old Elvet toiletries have been replaced by something more generic, but that's the only complaint. It's worth checking for on-street parking as this was free over the summer, and the hotel's car park is eye-wateringly expensive for Durham.

First time into an Indigo hotel and we loved it. The staff was extremely friendly and the check-in was super smooth and radiated good vibes only. The rooms were spacious and quirky - very clean and modern. We loved the shower, the bedding and pillows and the decor. Elemis body products are always super pleasant. High speed internet and smart tv on which u can stream your own content (Netflix, ect.). Location was perfect to visit town and the building is fabulous and gorgeous. Parking on the street was easy too right in front of the hotel.

The only disappointment was the breakfast which we could only get at 7:30 or 10:30am (due to covid measures no other slots were available). We attended the later slot and there was nothing much left on the buffet which was a little sad. I had the pancakes as a hot dish which was just ok (on the disappointing side) and my partner had egg Benedict which were lovely.

Would I return? Absolutely! Durham is wonderful and this hotel is a must stay !

Room tip: Don’t get the late slot for breakfast (during covid times)
