Great to return to our beloved Lake District and to stay at Lonsdale house which is always a treat. Andrew made us feel so welcome as usual, as did the whole team, nothing is too much trouble.
Lovely room and we felt right at home from the outset , it is our " Go to" accommodation when we visit the Lake District as we know we will get a warm welcome, comfortable room (And bed) , excellent customer service and a hearty breakfast.
Great location and I must compliment the cleanliness and the fact that they have done the work to be Covid Compliant, we both felt safe .
Part of our break was to chill as best we could, having a comfy room to return to after a day out added to wonderful weekend away, so nice to have a sense of some normality ( Albeit social distancing etc) again. Thanks everyone at Lonsdale house, I'd recommend a stay any time , which reminds me, see you in August.

First time at the Lonsdale, we were shown to our room by Andrew who was friendly and welcoming. Our room was downstairs at the back with a door leading out to the car park which was handy. The location is ideal, right in the middle of the town. The hotel is very clean with good Covid measures in place. Breakfast was a full English which I believe was well cooked but I myself would have liked a bit of a choice as I never eat a full cooked breakfast, there was no offer of anything else, just toast. Perhaps some fruit, yogurt or cereal? Only one other criticism would be no hairdryer in the room. Both my friend (who was staying in another room) and I didn't wash our hair in the morning due to the lack of a hairdryer and felt we shouldn't have to go hunting one down! All in all a pleasant stay. Would recommend if in the area.

Thank you for your kind review. With having the Covid measures in place as parts of the Governments Hospitality Risk Assessment we are not able to have the breakfast buffet table out in the morning but we do still offer cereals, fruit juice etc but it has to be served at the table instead of the usual help yourself. Again it is the same with the hair dryers they are all temporarily kept sanitised behind reception but we are more than happy to bring them to your room on request - no problem at all.
The Covid restrictions are a pain for all of us but please if ever you are unsure about anything just ask as we are always happy to help where we can.
Take care and we will hopefully get teh opportunity to welcome you back again in the future.
Kind Regards,
Andrew and the team

My husband and I stayed here for one night while visiting the Lakes, and we really enjoyed it. We had the bedroom at the back behind the dining room, so it felt very quiet at night. The bathroom was downstairs and the room was one flight of stairs up, in what seemed like an extension/attic - very cosy and beautifully decorated. We also had our own thermostat to regulate the temperature. Check in and check out was contactless, the key was left in the door and the staff was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. At breakfast the tables were spread out in a good distance, orders taken at the table and the choice was full English breakfast or vegetarian, with a selection of bread, juices and jams. Each room had their allocated breakfast time to ensure low occupancy of the dining room but it was easy to rearrange at the reception. All staff wore masks and gloves. We were very happy with our visit and will certainly stay again.
