A perfectly located, easy to find house, ideal for a family of 4 exploring Bowness and the surrounding area. Clean, cosy, warm and comfortable. Everything we needed had been thought of by Lorna and Rick, from entertainment (board games, books, play station), to practical and homely touches. A fully equipped kitchen gives the opportunity to eat in and for chilling out in a lovely space. Alternatively, the town is a stone throw away with loads of choices for food and drinks. Thank you so much for a perfect stay in The Lakes. Kids and adults absolutely loved it!
Stayed at woodys during half term, conveniently located within bowness and has most of what u would need for a weeks stay. Downsides carpet is so bad my daughter didn’t want to take her boots off it looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in years and it is hard to say what colour it originally was, and this runs through most of the appartment, halfway through the week we had a visit from a mouse in the kitchen, owner was quick to get management agency out with trap and didn't seem surprised, but no apology for all food/treats we threw away (just incase) car space is shared with apartment downstairs and as we had to share with over large transit van we had to unload car before parking up. Definitely had better.
Booked a long weekend for 5 and we were not disappointed.
The location couldn't be better as you're in the town but tucked away just off the the main road.
Entrance key box was a bit fiddly but we got there. Also, we had some difficulty finding the car parking space, it's down a track at the back. One parking space but we were able to park the other 2 cars for free nearby. Top tip - beware parking on Biskey Howe Road - my car was completely covered in bird dirt!
Entrance hall doesn't give a great impression but when you're in the apartment it's clean, spacious and well equipped.
Main en-suite and twin are on the top floor so if you're in the double on the second floor, the bathroom is upstairs.
Would definitely stay again.
This is a lovely, well laid out apartment only a 2 minute walk from the cinema (for those who know Bowness) about 1/4 mile to centre of town. The apartment is both very well presented and well provided for, giving a home from home experience. The lounge/diner comfortably accommodated 6 people - including 2 children playing games. Lots of games both traditional and electronic are provided by the owner along with lots of dvd's and music cd's. The beds were found to be very comfortable by all of our party. There is no outside space, so if you are bringing a pet (as we did) this is something to bear in mind, however we wouldn't hesitate to use this property again.
Bowness on Windemere is an excellent location to see the Lakes District. Wood'y's was well furnished, with all conveniences provided. The bus and ferry services were often and efficient---- the drivers and staff were helpful. We were able to visit Hilltop and Hawkshead, Grasmere, Beatrix Potters museum, Dungeon Ghyll, William Wordsworth's houses. We travelled to Glenridding and cruised Ullswater Lake. The scenery is just beautiful. We enjoyed chatting to the local people
