Very good location, quiet cul-de-sac, 2 minutes walk to beach and 5-10mins into town. Lovely house which was clean and well appointed. Great for self catering and lots of choice of places to eat out nearby too. Owners responded promptly to our questions and resolved a minor issue we had very efficiently. Just what we wanted for our week stay. My 5yo daughter loved it and said it had a ‘cute room’ for her to sleep in. Can’t say fairer than that!!
We visited Haruru House for a short stay after Xmas for New Year and we were pleasantly surprised. The location is excellent being very close to Crooklets Beach, a number of great restaurants, a pub and 2 beach cafes and you are also within walking distance of the town which is only 10 mins away.
The house is split across 3 floors, ground floor being a double bedroom, a further twin bedroom and large bathroom, whilst on the first floor is the lounge/diner and kitchen. On the second floor is the master bedroom with on suite bathroom. The house is large enough for everyone to have their own space, the bedrooms are large and the beds very comfy, the lounge area was great with 2 very large reclining sofas which we used a lot to recover after long beach walks. The kitchen has everything you need including dishwasher, oven, toaster, washing machine and a large fridge freezer. It was great having free wifi access, this allowed the kids to play on their various devices.
Couple of minor points, there wasn't enough towels and the heated towel rails didn't seem to work, made drying the towels a bit tricky.
My wife dealt directly with Sarah the owner who was very helpful and accommodating in meeting our needs and the bottle of chilled Prosecco we found in the fridge was a lovely welcome touch.
Would we stay here again? definitely.
We had a fantastic stay at this lovely, well equipped house.
The house is split over three levels with a spacious ensuite attic room, an open plan kitchen and living room on the first floor, and two smaller bedrooms and a bathroom on the ground floor. This worked really well for us - my mum was delighted to have a whole floor to herself while we slept on the ground floor with our nine month old daughter. We were provided with a cot and high chair and there were even buckets and spades and body boards downstairs. There is a small garden but the views over Bude are much nicer from the living room.
The most impressive thing was how well equipped the house was - they provided things like dishwasher tablets, a washing line and clothes pegs, tin foil, complimentary biscuits...all of those little things that you don't want to have to pack. It was spotlessly clean and the owner was so helpful and efficient, responding to our booking request very quickly and sending suggestions about what to do with our daughter.
Crooklets beach is a five minute walk away and you can then walks further 5/10 minutes round the coastal path to Summerleaze. It's also a short walk to Sainsburys which was very handy.
We have really fond memories of our first family holiday in Bude and would love to stay in the house again.
