This was our first visit since The George has re-opened and we were very impressed. Classic pub menu now including a carvery at very reasonable prices. Decoration very tasteful and quite traditional. Was impressed when they made me up a lunch which wasn't quite on the menu with no fuss. Landlady very welcoming and pleasant which made you feel very "at home" and there was an nice buzz to the place. Quite likely to become our regular lunchtime venue. Hope they do well!!

The George Inn Re opened its doors this morning by the lovely Danny & Tara Adams. Who also run the incredibly successful Greyhound at Bromham.
The Carvery was amazing!! Three choices of Meat with all the trimmings & a huge selection of vegetables.
Great atmosphere, lovely staff & beautiful gardens.
Highly recommend & will definitely be back soon.

Had an amazing Sunday lunch at the George Inn last Sunday! We ordered 3 with pork and 1 with beef. The pork lunch doesn't normally come with a Yorkshire pudding so we asked if we could have one and would be willing to pay extra. Lovely friendly waitress told us it wouldn't be a problem and didn't charge us.

The pork was beautifully tender, and the beef was perfectly cooked. Vegetables were incredibly flavoursome and the gravy and apple sauce were fantastic. Good portion sizes left us full and satisfied!

Desserts were great! Had a lovely trio of salted maple, honeycomb, and vanilla ice cream, while some of the group sampled the salted maple blueberry and white chocolate waffle!

Prices are pretty reasonable and the food and service were fantastic!! Had a lovely time and hope to go again!

My friend and I were away for a night and ate here...we both left disappointed.

We had booked a table and were seated easily and quickly. The waitress came to take our drinks order (a strawberry and pomegranate cider & a Stowford Press), despite having a pad of paper and a pen she asked 3 times for the order! A little while later she came back to advise there was no strawberry & pomegranate cider. However, my friend knew this wasn't the case as the only reason she ordered it was because she had seen it in the fridge herself. She went back out to the bar with the waitress to double check and, as she walked away, the waitress asked me again what my drink order was!!

We both ordered ham, egg & chips. I asked if was possible to have a poached egg instead of fried and was advised it wasn't. When the food came out it was put on the table and the waitress walked away without asking if we required any sauces so we had to wait for her to come back into the room and get her attention to ask her. There was no acknowledgement or apology that she didn't ask us initially.

The food was mediocre at best. The ham was what I would call vaccum packed ham and the chips looked like they had been cooked more than once.

We didn't stay for dessert.

I won't be returning in a hurry.

We called in for a simple bar snack on a quiet Thursday lunch time. We were presented with a very small choice but were too they had run out of brown bread!
We then waited over twenty minutes for our ordered sandwiches to arrive, and when they did they were on a silly board, not a plate. They were of very poor quality dry white bread with some rather cheap spread and thin "packet" ham with some mustard scraped on on of the pieces of bread. There was a silly pretentious small bucket of chips and a rather small pot of coleslaw, nether of which we had asked for.
Our advise? steer clear!
