Just had a 2 night stay here (Spring offer..with Dinner & Breakfast). Good room with terrace, awesome views. All the staff were very friendly, food was superb, beds were comfortable. Loved the history (famous guests) of the hotel. Fab Gin Bar, lots of choice, with that view! 1st visit to Fowey, definitely not the last, loved it.

Just arrived home after another wonderful stay at this gorgeous hotel. Pure relaxation, fantastic staff and wonderful dining make this our perfect UK holiday destination.
This was our second stay at The Fowey in 12 months, so must be good. We spent 6 nights this last week staying in The Rebecca Suite, room 102. The room is so comfortable, having its own private terrace with stunning views overlooking the Fowey estuary and Polruan beyond. It has an extremely comfortable 4 poster bed, spotlessly clean bathroom and good range of tea/ coffee products.
We enjoyed the delicious cooked breakfasts in the hotel and dined in for 3 evenings, as part of the spring deal. The food and service were truly excellent.
We also spent many happy hours enjoying a Gin and Tonic, whilst chilling on the gorgeous hotel veranda. This hotel has the best views in Cornwall, made even more perfect by the fantastic weather we had this week. Glorious ! Must say, the hotel also has the best cream teas ever! Simply delicious! Also love the bar snacks.
The hotel is close to the jetty where the Mevagissey ferry departs, giving you a couple of hours in this lovely fishing village.
We enjoyed wandering into Fowey after dinner each evening. Only a 5 minute, reasonably flat/ easy walk with a lovely range of shops, pubs and restaurants.
We had car parking on site, which is a must.
Heard that the hotel has recently been bought by another hotel chain. Please ensure the hotel retains it’s wonderful charm and lovely facilities, we love it.
Look forward to a return visit very soon!
Thanks so much to the wonderful staff at this Cornish Gem, you made our much awaited holiday perfect! Can’t wait for next time.

Lovely hotel. Comfortable bed, excellent feather and down pillows, tea/coffee making in room. Very good but small walk in shower. The food is superb, with fresh crab and lemon sole, vegetables, Cornish new potatoes etc. Two slightly uncomfortable chairs in room. Staff are fantastic. Only drawback Room 404 has a few steps up to ensuite but the main problem is the gent’s loo opposite our door. Noisy hand dryer etc so it really should be moved. Definitely recommend this delightful hotel. 5 min walk into town or ferry to Polruan.

Really can't say enough good things about this hotel. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, always happy and doing their best to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Our room was very nice - lovely sea view and although compact, had everything needed for a comfortable stay. Very clean and well maintained. The only meal we had in the hotel was breakfast - this was well presented and of excellent quality. Parking is an issue, but this is to be expected in small Cornish towns like Fowey. The staff directed us to an area of free on-street parking that we were able to use for all of our stay. The building itself is full of character, in a great location close to the town and lovely harbourside. Yes, the building is traditional and a little dated, but in a timeless, positive way - much nicer than many of the soulless modern offerings. Overall - we will be back as soon as we can!

Room Tip: Go for the sea views!

There are only a few small things that stop me rating the hotel as 5 stars. There is no lift access to the floor below reception level and no access to the street below from that floor. This means taking stairs up then down when going to or from the town. On top of this the WiFi was useless. Apart from that it was clean, comfortable and had lovely views. Food and drinks were very good.

Dear Trevor W,

Thank you for your review.

I am delighted you enjoyed your stay with us.
We appreciate that parking can be challenging and will continue to arrange this for our guests as best we can.
Access to the Esplanade below is accessible from the 4th floor rooms as the doors are self locking, however I understand not all guests would like to leave via this part of the building.
It is lovely to read you enjoyed our offering at Fowey and hope to welocne you again one day.
