we stopped in here on our way out of Hayling Island. the pub is very dark and dingy. My wife and I both ordered the haddock and chips and we were very7 disappointed. The fish was like the type that you would buy from a supermarket and put in the oven on a baking tray. It was mainly batter and the fish inside was grey not white. the chips also tasted like they were oven chips. We would not recommend this place at all.

Have visited the Yew Tree a few times and generally had the various pie options. Unfortunately came to conclusion that they value quantity over quality.
Was talked into visiting today as was Mother in Laws birthday and according to my better half she liked the place.
Cut a long story short I had possibly the worst overpriced burger I have ever tasted. £11 for a burnt, dry and tasteless burger. Told who I assumed was the manager and got a blank look and absolutely no response.
Last visit.

Good beer and reasonable hot food , sandwiches leave a lot to be desired so go for a main course. Service okay but we found it depends who you get at the bar , one good one miserable

Have been talking about trying the Yew Tree for Sunday roast for some time as the pub always looks busy so would assume the food was good. Big mistake. Having arrived early evening around 6pm the list of food unavailable was very long and there was only one roast dinner option, expected possibly due to the weather being nice and the fact that it's holiday season, however when we came to order we were told that what we had chosen was also not available, tried another option, again unavailable. Decided on two lamb roast dinners and were told there would be about a 30 minute wait. Totally okay for what we thought would be a nice roast dinner, however 30 minutes later the roast arrived. Tinned or possibly frozen veg microwaved, peas, carrots and green beans. Lamb you could not see on the plate for the thick stodgy gravy covering it. Very thin slices. The only time I have seen 'meat' like this is from microwave dinners/ packets of frozen meat and deep fried potatoes (yes deep fried), with no Yorkshire pudding. At the price they are charging it's attractive to holiday makers as it is slightly less expensive than some other local pubs, however what they are serving falls way below standard Sunday roasts so does not really warrant the £11 price tag
