A warm welcome from the staff, very comfortable room in an old fashioned type of hotel. Jocks bar has a great deal of history with some great pictures of the Black Watch regiment. Food was really good with friendly service.Would recommend

This was our third stay in the Green Hotel and our best. On this occasion we had a beautiful, spacious and comfortable room (yes the bed was only a standard double and yes it was pretty hard as other reviewers have said but the room overall was lovely). We stayed for three nights and although the hotel was full the breakfasts were extremely good with a good variety and everything replenished quickly. We had one evening meal in Jock's Bar which was very good. There were times over the weekend when service in the bars was a little slow but the hardworking staff maintained their cool throughout and were very pleasant and cheerful. We had friends staying the same weekend and their room wasn't as nice as ours - the furnishings were more basic and the beds were pretty well worn out, so it clearly matters which room you get. Yes the hotel is a bit shabby in parts but spotlessly clean and so much more elegant a building than a modern 'box' with identical rooms lacking any character. We look forward to our next visit.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front have views over the park.

I visited this hotel as part of a spa break. The hotel is very dated. The spa is a leisure centre in the hotel across the road. It was good value on the whole, but there are definitely things which could be improved on. No one told us about the facilities in the hotel. There is a music venue in the back which we were told about after the band had stopped. The service was on the whole nice but very slow. The staff were variable it was clear one or two were working thier socks off and were helpful but some of the others were not so considerate. There was a lot of problems with the bill, the hotel were clearly not used to doing so breaks and so the resturants bull was repeatedly wrong. The room was large and clean, but the curtains didn't close. This hotel has a lovely large central courtyard and load of potential. The food in the restaurant was nice, but the decor is very early 1980s , feels suffocating with its polystyrene ceiling tiles. The pub service was friendly but slow, my crayfish sandwich wasn't nice at all. But it didn't sell itself. I was overall disappointed and won't be back.

Stayed here whilst on a golfing trip. Very helpful staff, great food and about a 1 minute walk to the golf club.
We were all able to securely store our golf equipment in a lockable drying room.
I would stay again and fully reccomend this hotel.
