Friendly owners, lovely welcome basket.quiet location peaceful and hut has all you need for a short break.
We absolutely loved the shepherds hut. It was easy to find and the scenery was beautiful. We were met by the owners who showed us around then let us be. We were greeted by a little hamper with wine, bread, eggs, fruit loaf, water and other little treats in which was a really nice touch. The hut has everything you need (even wifi!) we had ourselves a bbq then watched the sunset under a blanket on the furniture outside the hut then had a peaceful comfy nights sleep! Will definitely stay again thank you Joanne and co :)
Thank you to Joanne and Andy for a lovely couple of days with our 2 dogs. Warm as toast in the shepherds Hut, lovely and clean and a fab hamper on arrival. No phone signals and intermittent wifi. Only little downside was the midgey bites, which we both suffered, take some repellent. Wild deer as well as horses all came to have a look at us in camp.
What can I say about the Shepherds hut other than my partner and I had a wonderful time staying there over the May bank holiday weekend.
The owners were incredibly friendly and welcoming, even leaving a hamper of essentials inside ready for when we arrived. The hut itself was charmingly decorated, well maintained and surprisingly well equipped considering its size. With small kitchen and log burner we had everything we needed to be completely self sufficient whilst we were there.
The location and scenery are both beautiful, and the hut is well situated on the north western edge of the peak district a short drive from many attractions and points of interest within the peak district proper, and only an hours drive from Manchester city centre, ensuring that you'll never be hard pressed for activities during your stay. This is in addition to a number of very fine restaurants in neighbouring villages.
A wonderful experience and thoroughly enjoyed.
