Visited here today for lunch , our food came out wrong 2 times , the manager Daniel didn't really care once he got his money !! My daughter has food allergies and asked for specific food and wen it came out there were hidden vegetables that she was allergic 2 .... We left our food , disgusted with the service and the lack of respect . Wouldn't recommend this place . Daniel the manager wasn't pleasant at all . Won't b back !! If u have any kind of food allergies make sure and spell it out so they will know , we are lucky we didn't end up in A&E .... It's an absolute disgrace the way we were treated today ...

We stayed at the Bit & Bridle after the Iverk Show; it was conveniently between Piltdown and the Shannon Airport, where we needed to be at 9AM.
We booked it because it had parking, a place for us to have a drink and dinner after Iverk, was in our budget, and was close to the N24, just over an hour from Shannon.

First, Daniel was the nicest, most welcoming host! He offered to assist with our bags, went above & beyond to accommodate our odd departure/checkout time, and could not have been nicer.

We were so happy with our rooms!
We were on the top floor. The hall to them is clean, but dated. But the rooms were spotless, had fresh new bedding & towels, comfortable mattresses, new windows, clean & uncramped bathrooms, and were both quiet. To our relief, they were also exceptionally well supplied: our week had been hit or miss with broken kettles, missing cups, and such for morning coffee & tea. As we were leaving before breakfast, being able to get our own coffee & tea in the AM was important. The rooms at Bit & Bridle provided us with everything we needed, including nice cups & biscuits.

We had dinner, but not breakfast. Dinner was good, and the desserts --especially the fruit crisp-- were excellent.

Excellent accommodation for the price! We'd absolutely stay again.

FYI-- check-in is at the pub.

Room tip: The top rooms were very quiet. No elevator.

This is a great little pub that is know for good home cooked food. We live locally and went in to top off a family holiday. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The food is excellent and great value for money. The fish and chips a particularly great highlight.

Not your usual hotel experience but we had an enjoyable stay there with exceptional hospitality from the manager. The food is very good, standard fare, well presented in the large bar area. Everything was spotless, the only reservation being the size of the bathroom which was very constricting! So a full recommendation for an enjoyable stay in a rural part of Ireland. Lots of parking, comfortable beds.
