Beautifully refurbished while maintaining its historical charm. Large rooms with modern conveniences and incredible view, no detail has been overlooked. Service was excellent. The food is amazing, best in town. There’s a comfy chair waiting for you by the fire.

Friend recommended this as great place for good, fresh, homemade pub food. Booked ahead and glad we did. Warm welcome from staff. Lovely dining room with river views, snug lounge with wood burning stove which was welcome on such a frosty wintry day.

Excellent menu with lots of choice and couple of super sounding specials: monkfish scampi and a tandoori fish dish.

Had the seafood chowder then fish and chips. Super fresh and piping hot. Lots of flavour and the presentation was excellent.

So lovely to be in a restaurant that does the simple things really well. Good staff, excellent food, lovely surroundings.

Will definitely be back and will book as sure this will be a very busy place as the season proper arrives.

We met up with friends for a Christmas dinner and stay for Bed & Breakfast.
The Christmas Dinner was excellent and very tasty. 6 of us had a really nice stay, the room was very warm and the bed comfortable. Breakfast was superb - full English. A little expensive but it was good.

Room tip: it was a little noisy due to the bar downstairs.

Went hear for a big family dinner. I used to go here a lot when I was wee so was looking forward to trying it now it has new people running it. Everyone really enjoyed there meal. I had the crab cakes that were on special. They were really tasty, maybe a wee bit lacking in seasoning but I still ate them no bother and the homemade chips were amazing! Hubby got the duck which I never got to try cause he ate it all so must have been good! Only thing wrong with his were the spuds were really bland, literally just boiled with no other technique used to flavour them, that's why no 5/5. The pecan pudding I got was really good. All in all there was mostly clean plates out of a party of 9. Looking forward to eating here again on my next visit home. The staff were also lovely!!
