Imaginative and interesting exhibits focusing on Luton, it’s history and culture. For such a small museum the quality of the interactive displays and information is superb. A really good cafe as well...
Really impressed

It is probably 25 years since I last visited what I then knew as the museum in Wardown Park - now Wardown House, Museum and Gallery. The motivation to visit after so long was the LTFC Littlewods Cup Exhibition - great memories of that Wembley final. The museum has taken on a new look with the "house" displaying many interesting exhibits in a homely setting. A very enjoyable visit

Many, many years since I last visited Wardown with my now grown up children but paid a return visit this week with the grandchildren (7 and 4) and what a change. I remember it being a bit on the dark and dismal side but now it is light, bright and very inviting. For the children there was a challenge to find all the hidden mice, which kept them engaged and exploring the various exhibits. Dressing up boxes too for the little ones which were of a decent quality (all too often these are scruffy and poorly maintained but not at Wardown). Plenty of hands on activities for the kiddies and for the musically minded, a piano to play! All in all a successful afternoon, rounded off by drinks and cake (the toffee & coffee cake was particularly good and the children wanted more!) in the lovely atmospheric dining room.
Set in the park, with nice landscaping next to the house. Plenty of room for the children to run about.
Entry is free. I think donations are appreciated but to be honest I didn’t see anywhere prominent for this. Staff were helpful and friendly, especially when we were having trouble finding the last mouse! I will definitely be going back some time.
