Mill Cottage was beautifully furnished with everything you would need and spotlessly clean. Joanna greeted us and had baked us a cake and provided a bottle of fizz. We were celebrating my mum's 80th by taking her away for 3 days. Whitby and Scarborough are equi-distant from Harwood Dale -about 15 mins drive through amazing countryside. Do visit Sand End and Robin Hood Bay and the Abbey in Whitby and Farrar Spa cafe/theatre in Scarborough; take a cliff tram lift and visit old town and walk along the harbour there. We ate out at a fabulous pub in Scalby called 'The Plough' -fully recommend this! The city of York not far away-visit the Minster and 'The Shambles'. we would go again-fabulous 3 nights.
An exceptional cottage and setting was wonderful the best place we have stayed in a long time.
Property was very clean and comfortable with everything you would need and want.
Cake and wine for us on arrival and very yummy homemade cake it was too, thank you Joanna.
Thank you so much Joanna, for letting us stay in your beautiful Cottage we loved it.
Lovely cottage, which had everything we needed, pet-friendly and beautiful area to explore. Would book again.
This was our second stay in Mill cottage at Murkhead. We had a four year old and one dog in tow.We all had a great break. The hosts are friendly and approachable. The cottage is comfortably furnished with all you might need. Scarborough and Whitby just a short drive away. Watching deer and bats in the evening a real bonus. We hope to return next year.
Mill Cottage is a beautiful quiet retreat but also close to the towns of Whitby and Scarborough for sightseeing, we especially liked Whitby and lunch on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. The bottle of wine and home made cake were a nice welcoming surprise. An enjoyable stay.
