We are so lucky to have this park in our town. It is suitable for all ages to enjoy and hosts regular events throughout the year from park runs to music festivals to film screenings. There is a very big playground there permanently which has equipment suitable for all ages - swings, climbing frames, zip wires and much much more. There is a boating lake for use in the summer and often there are inflatables too. There is a cafe and toilet facilities as well as the castle and a museum. It is also nice just for a walk through, the gardens are always spectacular and there are very friendly squirrels too! It is the type of place you can go for a free day out or for a treat and spend some money. Very highly recommended for a visit throughout the year.

We battled our way through very slow traffic just so we could visit the Castle Park in Colchester. But they do not allow dogs. Perhaps some dog owners haven't cleaned up poos. We were allowed to visit the lower castle park, but the loos were closed. Very unfriendly for a Wednesday in October.

Love taking walks in this lovely park in the oldest town recorded in England. It's vast grounds offer a variety of terrain with a nice water way running through it.
Will return to this park when I next visit Colchester.
