“Lovely Retreat, Great Location”
Reviewed 27 March 2019 for a stay in March 2019

Lovely cosy getaway, super clean and high standard of decor. Very friendly owners and dogs. We thoroughly enjoyed looking around Stamford and Oakham, spent a whole day at Burghley House and the morning before our journey home was spent at the Nene Valley Railway including a trip on a steam train to Peterborough and back. All these super places within 15 minutes drive of The Bothy!

“Tranquil rural hide-away”

Lovely wee place. Beautifully converted from farm outbuildings. Small but perfectly formed. Comfortable and well equipped within the space. No room for a washing machine or dishwasher, but room for a wood burner, which in my view is much more desirable.

Orchard outside to walk in. Promise of badgers and foxes, although we weren't lucky (or perhaps didn't get up early enough).

Warm welcome from host Kathryn.

Highly recommended.

thank you for your great review, I hope we offered you some peace and respite during your time here. The foxes are definitely around as I keep finding calling cards but they seem to have gone nocturnal! Hope you had a good trip home and we'd love to have you to stay again if you need a base in the area.

“Peaceful and stylish”
Reviewed 5 September 2018 for a stay in September 2018

This is a beautiful and very comfortable cottage and is equipped with everything you could wish for.
It is in a lovely, peaceful location and Kathryn was a great host, who was helpful and charming throughout.
I have no hesitation in recommending The Little Bothy and hope to visit again
