A pleasant walk by the river takes me to The Thief. Located at the bustling Tjuvholmen, Oslo's trendiest hot spots, the hotel architecture has privileged views to the fjords and it's a perfect urban hide-out to relax and indulge!

Scandinavian design, functionality and simplicity are present in each corner of the building which has interiors designed by Anemone Wille Våge. Her trademark is creating mysterious and elegant spaces with an artsy twist. Exquisite materials such as velvet, silver and bronze fixtures are explored in different settings to create an intimate ambience.

The hotel which is located a stone's throw Astrup Fearnley Museum also features art pieces curated by Sune Nordgre, who hand-picked contemporary art from all over the world, attention to Jeff Koons – Titi, 2004-2009 which adds a playful edge to the lobby.

A spacious room with a balcony overlooking the blue coloured fjord and its sailing boats was waiting for me on the 7th floor. I enjoyed each minute of my stay there, and I can't think of a better place to spend the weekend in Oslo!

Staff was amicable and attentive offering support when I needed. Breakfast was served on the second floor offering an abundant selection of fresh pastries, fruits and freshly made scrambled eggs. Simply Yummy!

The highlight of my stay was undoubtedly having lunch at their rooftop, where I had the opportunity to taste a traditional Norwegian white fish and slow-cooked potatoes on shrimp butter paired with french oysters while sipping their Blossom Martini signature cocktail.

If you're a savvy traveller, passionate about food art and elegance with an edgy twist, this is the right place for you! A lifetime hotel stay!

Greetings and many thanks for your very detailed and colourful review of our property . Great to read you had such an enjoyable stay . As you mentioned were located adjacent to the wonderful Astrup Fearnley museum and as patrons of the museum we offer free entry to our staying guests . Glad that you enjoyed breakfast and to see it described as "yummy " is a true pleasure . Your comments concerning our rooftop restaurant / bar were a pleasure to read as we do have a fine menu and stunning views across the Oslo Fjord and harbour

Wishing you a long , hot Summer and looking forward to your return

Everything was perfect: the position of the hotel, the view from our balcony, the soft bed, the silence, the cleanness of our room, the spa, the relaxed and classy atmosphere. A special mention to Raj, who took a special care of us during our -amazing!- morning breakfast. It was so nice to met him. When back in Oslo, we will for sure stay at The Thief again.

Glad that the "silence" of the property gets a mention as the fact that were located on an Island contributes greatly the the peace and tranquility of the property . I´d like to thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and I´ll be sharing your comments with my colleagues and in particular Rajiv

We booked this hotel well in advance. The concierge was fantastic in accommodating pre bookings for our collection and return to the central rail station and we appreciated that. The breakfast was sensational as reviewers describe. However, when we checked in we were given our room keys and made our way to the room only to find that the room was either occupied or alternately had not been cleaned with bed linen strewn everywhere. Upon returning to the reception apologies were made and another room allocated -a complimentary entry to the day spa was given. The day spa was not something I would have used in any event so whilst this was complimentary it was of little advantage to us. We eventually got to our room to discover the next day that it was situated above a child care centre or playground and therefore noisy during the day. The position with housekeeping did not improve. The two days we were there when we returned late in the day it was to find that the room had not been serviced. Also whilst there were a number of personal items for the traveller in the room which where above and beyond what could possibly be needed a simple thing like a disposable shower cap was not provided. We enjoyed our stay at the Thief but given this is a premium Choice Hotel the issues I mention in this review should really not have occurred or should be rectified.

Greetings and many thanks form your comprehensive review of The Thief . Great to read you had an enjoyable stay . As you mentioned we have a "sensational " breakfast and chef takes great pride in his locally sourced , seasonal and organic Norwegian fare . I´d like to thanks you for taking the time to share your thoughts as your feedback is invaluable to us and some of your comments fall way below the very high standards we set ourselves at The Thief . I can assure you we take your comments very seriously and I´ll be discussing some of your points with management .

Stayed here for two nights as part of a two city Norwegian break. Fantastic location on the water and easy walking to all the sights. Attention to detail great particularly the turn down service with tea and cookies at bed time! The best buffet breakfast ever experienced in Europe. Well done The Thief!

A very unique hotel set in a great location. Great roof top area and wonderful staff. Very accommodating (due to travel plans, we had to check out and re-check in during our stay). Overall a great, truly unique hotel (trendy, scenic).
