Relatively new (built 2011) hotel. Like most Scandic hotels it offers a great breakfast. The rooms are practical, but not lavish. Cleanliness is good and the staff offers great service.

The hotel is located on the western bank og the Aker River, short walking distance to restaurant, bar, hipster and culture hotspot Grünerløkka. The hotel is built into a steep hill. It offers some great views of the river, but if you want to stay at this hotel you need to use your legs. There are stars everywhere and, even though central, there is no tram or subway connection close by. The buses are frequent, but the hotel is in between two stops. There are good parking options, but these are only free during July. City bikes available in front of the hotel.

I have been in many hoteles in my holidays And I can say that this hotel is one of the best. For me is an excellent option at a good price.
La comida muy buena y variada. Las habitaciones limpias y nuevas con gadgets curiosos como camas motorizadas, tablas plancha...

What I appreciate the most about boutique hotels is that usually, they have some awesomeness. Scandic Vulkan isn't an exception when it comes to that. From interiors to the service, everything has a really unique character and a cool vibe.

Located in Vulkan, one of Oslo's most hip city developments the hotel represents the Nordic design and minimalist style like no other in the area. During my stay, I was welcomed by a very friendly staff who arranged a special room with stunning city views on the top floor. I enjoyed myself a lot there while sipping a glass of prosecco and watching the sunset, which believes me, it doesn't kick in before 11 pm.

I was literally just a few steps away from many interesting hot spots such as Bar and Rooftop Vulkan, as well as street-food stalls, energetic and alternative restaurants and coffee shops and eye-catching canal walks and street art.

Food has played a really special role during my stay at Scandic Vulkan! I fell in love with their breakfast. I'm telling you, you'll never go wrong when having breakfast in a boutique hotel. It's always super chill and laid back and you'll find yourself surrounded by a cool bunch of people. I had the most delicious salmon gravlax accompanied by scrambled eggs and freshly made nordic pancakes, their restaurant also offers a gluten and a dairy free section for intolerants. Simply smart and yummy!

If I'd have to choose two words to sum up my stay at Scandic they would be enjoyable and fun!

Room Tip: Rooms with a city view on the 7th floor.

This is the first time that I have stayed at Scandic Vulkan, but not the last time.

The hotel has a nice location in vicinity of Oslo central area in a still in a quiet area near Akerselva. Clean room and a nice breakfast. In the vicinity of the hotel there are nice restaurants and bars and that means that there is no need to take a stroll into central Oslo.

It is even better to take the stroll along the banks of the river. The staff is friendly and service minded.

Arrived in Oslo Central Station as experienced global travelers, yet within an instant became victims of brazen robbery -- passports, cameras CCs/cash and ID. Hotel staff were exceptionally helpful in getting us back on track.
