We loved everything about Avgi's Home - except that we couldn't stay longer and spend more time with Miretta, Zion, and Gemma.
The house is in a quiet part of Limassol with a suburban feel and only 10 minutes away from Limassol Castle and the shore along a choice of alleys with beautiful traditional architecture, artists' shops, community centers, and green spaces. There are also enough convenience stores and facilities around.
We stayed in the Carob apartment which is surrounded by a garden of aromatic plants, trees, jasmine, and other flowers.
As soon as we booked our room on Booking.com, the owners Miretta and Zion contacted us and offered to help with directions and anything else we needed. This only begins to describe how helpful and considerate and friendly they were throughout our stay. We fully understand why Miretta is a Super Host on Airbnb, and we agree wholeheartedly.
As soon as we arrived, and before even entering our room, Miretta, Zion, and Gemma made us feel at home and like family. The apartment itself is very tastefully decorated and comfortable - and super clean. It literally felt like we were going to bed in our own home at night.
The apartment was equipped it with all the amenities and stocked generously with complimentary snacks and drinks, and our hosts offered to provide us with anything else we needed. They also asked about our breakfast preferences to make sure they got the right food at the time of our preference.
We had the option of having breakfast served either indoors in the common kitchen or outdoors in the garden - of course we went for the second option. Over breakfast, we enjoyed nice conversations with our hosts who took the time to know us better.
Zion insisted on driving us to an address we needed to get to in the city, and even drove us to the new Intercity bus stop which we didn't know about (which wasn't mentioned on the official website).
We would highly recommend Avgi's Home, Olive Room, to anyone visiting Limassol. The location is excellent, walking distance to the main core and yet far enough away to enjoy a quiet night's sleep. The room darkening shutters also contributed to late morning rises.
The suite is spacious, nicely furnished and spotlessly clean (Gemma, the cleaning angel, sees to this). The grounds are exceptionally manicured and the patio space beautiful. The kitchenette is generously stocked with breakfast foods, snacks and drinks, and breakfast is provided, it even includes a Nespresso machine and pods for your use!
The highlight of our stay at Avgi's Home was meeting Miretta and Zion. While they were busy with an urgent work commitment, they went out of their way to find time to make us feel welcome. We thoroughly enjoyed the hours we spent together chatting over coffee, food and wine. We were visiting at the same time their friends were visiting and we were kindly extended an invitation to join them for dinner at a local taverna. We cannot say enough about their open hospitable nature.
Our intention was to spend one night and move on to Paphos for three, however, we returned after just one night and spent two more nights with our new dear friends. Returning there was like a homecoming.
We hope that all travellers have the opportunity to have an experience as wonderful as ours.
