“Lovely rustic house with everything you need for a comfortable stay”
Reviewed 23 October 2015 for a stay in October 2015

My wife and I spent 5 days here in Mid October.

Booking and communication with the owner, Bronwyn, was easy and we were met at the house from the caretaker, Frances who lives across the road if you ever need anything.

The house itself is nice and big with high ceilings. It is on a main road, if you can call it a main road as the streets in sleepy Xaghra are very narrow. There is a bus stop right outside which is handy although don't rely too much on the bus times as they may be up to 10 mins early or late as we found out.

Wifi is very reliable.

The pool is lovely for a dip and the pool area got the sun from 11:30 until 16:00. I'm not sure if this is different slightly in the summer months. The roof area obviously gets the sun all day and gives you views all over Gozo.

The lovely Ramla bay is a very short drive away, walk 10 mins in to the square for drinks and food. Sam the butcher is next to the church where we got some tasty steaks and sausages for the BBQ. There is also a great small supermarket on the way to the square, you will see signs and can't miss it. It has everything you really need for your stay.

We loved our stay at Ta Nenu. The only reason for not giving it 5 stars is that it needs a bit of maintenance i.e: a few broken sun loungers, blocked drains around pool area, broken flush button and damp in the toilet areas and a good spring clean......but remember this is a fantastic property for the money you pay!

We would stay here again :)

Thank-you for your feedback - it is always appreciated. Will get over to Gozo myself to follow up on the maintenance pointers, always good to be made aware of these issues - thank-you! Hopefully see you in the future ;)

Had a great few days in Gozo, leaving on 3rd October. The house is great. Frances and Bronwyn have been really helpful with our minor qwerks. There were 6 of us so we had a big van which was fun parking, however if you keep the garage door open then you always have a space. Towels, bedding etc all great and if you are her next week we have left some supplies, chocolate spread, sugar, tea, coffee etc.

“A very good holiday !”
Reviewed 2 October 2015 for a stay in September 2015

This farmhouse is an excellent place to to retreat to for a holiday. We had a lot of fun staying here and are sure to return. Bronwyn and Frances are really helpful when it comes to booking and also provided us with various grocer locations from where one can buy his/her daily needs. The farmhouse is equipped with almost everything and is clean. There are however a few things that need attention:
1. There are few kitchen utensils like big pots, which was a big drawback when we had to cook.
2. The noises from the street were a bit disturbing at times.

Nice, clean farmhouse, air conditioning in all bedrooms. Garage included in the property which made parking hassle free. Impressively well equipped kitchen, plus big fridge and freezer. Pool towels, bath towels and all the bed linen even cot linen provided. Nice pool with sun beds, table and chairs for 6 people and even a gas BBQ. Also a cupboard with beach toys, toys, balls, colours and puzzles for the children. And a very kind & helpful caretaker by the name of Frances. Thanks again for everything.

“Beautiful property in a quiet village”

We had a wonderful stay at Ta Nenu and as it was our first visit to Gozo our expectations were more than met. The farmhouse was lovely, pool was fabulous and it was convenient for the village.
Positives:
Frances lives opposite and was very helpful with any questions or issues that we had. (Thank you Frances for all your help)
The pool was warm, clean and there was a net to fish out any insects each morning.
Rooms were exceptionally well appointed, clean and beds were really comfortable.
Wi-fi was strong and and allowed my son to game on his laptop.
Kitchen was well stocked with utensils, cleaning products and all clean when we arrived. Large fridge and a spare fridge.
Massive flat screen tv with dvd player and cable tv. Comfy leather sofas.
Big dining table with 6 chairs and dining outside also.
Local restaurant food was 15 min walk away. A number to choose from and fantastic, as was all the food on Gozo!
Supermarket 8 min walk away.
Air conditioned buses from outside the property allow you to get to the capital and the local beaches.
The transfer from the airport via the ferry to the property (organised for us by the owner) was very smooth (E70 each way + E4.65 each for the ferry). It took just under 2 hours once we were out of the airport.

Things to watch out for (none of these were a big issue for us, more for info):
Pool gets deep very quickly if you have young children - not an issue for us.
Pool and garden are in the shade first thing in the morning until around 11 and then from about 4 onwards which means you are out in the sun in the heat of the day. You can use the roof terrace to sunbathe when the garden is in shade.
Only 2 sunbeds in the garden - the other two are on the roof. Bringing them down the spiral staircase would be a bit of a palaver!
Buses stop outside and there is some road noise but it didn't really bother us as they are only once an hour or so.
Overall we had a wonderful time and are looking forward to returning to Gozo for another holiday.

Liked best: The Pool, the property felt really comfortable and it was generally quiet
Liked least: Had to be really careful in the kitchen with food otherwise the ants would be over the surfaces.
