Typical restaurant situated close to the cathedral. The restaurant has a nice terrace to see views of the city and to eat in rural atmosphere. I ate the typical salad of Gozo with the different cheeses with capers, tomatoes, peppers, olives. It was really tasty. As a second dish I ate rabbit with a sauce with tomatoe onions and seeds. Good option to taste healthy and traditional food of Gozo.

Ta' Rikardu is a must on all my trips to Gozo and once again it didn't disappoint. The service is great with Carol's warm welcome every time and the Gozo platter taken with the fresh, soft local cheese is without doubt the best on the island. The restaurant itself is full of character and on this visit, for the first time, I sat on the roof terrace, which is accessed via a small stone spiral staircase. As it was March it was a little windy but the terrace affords fantastic views over the citadel. Five months and counting until I get to sample this delicious food again!

The traditional platter is an excellent starter, with local cheese (allow the extra fresh cheese), local bread, and olive oil (at last!). Follow with home made ravioli (ricotta), or maltese food.
If you can find a place at the terrace roof, the view is nice. The service is also very kind, and the bill very light.

Ate here as a family party including our three year old. It was a very convenient place to eat after sightseeing in the Citadel. The staff were pleasant but the service was slow despite there being few other customers. We shared two Gozitan platters between four with a side portion of soft cheese. The platter consisted of onions, capers, olives, tomatoes, two type of hard cheese and bread. It was ok but not as good as we were expected from the guidebook and on-line reviews. I found the cheese much too salty. The fifth person in our party had the ravioli which was very good. If you're in the Citadel at lunchtime it is probably worth a visit although I'm not sure we'd return due to the limited menu.
