“Wonderful Apartment near the City Centre in Reykjavik”
Reviewed 9 February 2016 for a stay in February 2016

Together with two friends, I stayed in this apartment and found it an ideal and comfy base for city explorations. It has a separate bedroom with a big double bed, a combined living room/ kitchen with a big flat-screen TV and a comfy couch (which can also be used for two people to sleep on) and a nice bathroom with a tub and shower and even a washing machine.

The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you might ever need - microwave, stove, coffee-pad machine, toaster, water-cooker - you name it, it was there.

The city centre is virtually around the corner and you can easily stroll over to the Sun Voyager, the Harpa or the main shopping street all within a few minutes.

The owner, Emma, was very friendly and will help you with every question you might have.

Virtually the only thing we might want to criticize is that the walls are very thin - you can hear the neighbours' TV very clearly and in our case, he/she sometimes had it going until the early morning hours (but even that changed for the better when we jumped up and down for a few seconds to signal for him to be a bit more considerate). So, earplugs might just be a good thing to bring.

Otherwise, this apartment is a great base for your explorations of the Icelandic capitol.

Thank you Katja , I am sorry about the noise. could you be more specific about where it came from. on the left side there is an old person living so it must be from the apartment beside the elevator, that is a rented apartment . Also I am sorry I did not see your mail you sent me the day beforeyou left, until after you were gone. Overall I am so happy that you enjoyed your stay in Reykjavik and in our apartment. Hope I see you again.

“Great, very comfortable apartment!”
Reviewed 18 November 2015 for a stay in October 2015

This was our first trip to Iceland for a mother/daughter getaway. We took the Flybus from the airport to Reykjavik bus station and a shuttle to the Fosshotel Baron, which was a 2 minute walk to the apartment. Emma met us when we arrived with refreshments as she warmly greeted us, she showed us around the apartment and gave us all kinds of information on Reykjavik and Iceland. She even texted us during our stay to make sure everything was okay!
The apartment is in an excellent location, a 5 minute walk to the main shopping street, Laugavegur, the waterfront is right across the street with a walking path and beautiful snow covered mountain views!
The apartment is truly a home away from home, it's cozy, warm, well equipped with everything you'll need and very comfortable. The kitchen and bathroom have everything you'll need. The balcony is wonderful with a table and 2 chairs, we spent a lot of time out there with our coffee or wine! The king sized bed and pillows are very comfortable and there's lots of storage space in the closets.
There is a key to enter the building, you feel very safe, and there is garage parking if you rent a car. Bonus supermarket is a 10 minute walk on Laugavegur, and there's a 10/11 (24 hour mini mart) right around the corner. There are lots of brochures in the apartment detailing everything about the area. There is very easy access to the roads leading out of town if you'll be driving. There are wonderful books in the coffee table, take some time to look at them! There is also a converter for US plugs, we brought an extension cord which really helped for plugging in 2 or 3 things at the same time.
I would definitely recommend this apartment and plan on staying here again in the future! Emma was wonderful to deal with, very helpful and the price for the stay was excellent, I can not think of a bad/negative thing to say....great vacation in Reykjavik!

“Wonderful One Bedroom in Reykjavik Center”
Reviewed 22 September 2015 for a stay in September 2015

Emma Holm graciously offers a spacious, bright and clean one bedroom apartment with parking minutes stroll from Reykjavik Centrum. The apartment is fully equipped with every amenity including a well-stocked kitchen, excellent Wi-Fi and laundry facilities. The apartment includes a small southwest facing balcony, the perfect place to end the day with a coffee or glass of wine before heading out for the evening. A very well stocked and modern convenience store is less than a block away and numerous excellent restaurants offering a variety of dining options are within a few minutes stroll, as is the waterfront, including the famous Sun Voyager sculpture. Alvin's Comfort is perfect base from which to explore both Reykjavik's urban core and the surrounding Icelandic countryside.

“1st time to Iceland”
Reviewed 28 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We were highly impressed with the punctuality of Emma, within every aspect. She was exceptional to work with from start to finish. We would highly recommend her rental to others traveling to Iceland. The apartment was a very central location for all of our excursions.
Thanks for all of your help Emma!!

“Perfect Getaway”
Reviewed 2 August 2015 for a stay in July 2015

We stayed in this apartment for a week and it was wonderful. It is perfect for two people wanting a cozy retreat. The bed is comfortable and the wifi is reliable which are harder things to come by than you'd think!

The apartment is located close enough to the entertainment and shopping district so as to be convenient, but far enough away that you are not constantly in the thick of it. It is also a block from the KEX Hostel which is what we used for pick up and drop off for FlyBus since its a known location (they charge a little extra for "unknown" location drop-offs/pick-ups).

Emma (the manager) was attentive to our needs and quickly responded to text messaging. She even offered to drive us to the BSI to catch our train back to KEF airport so we didn't have to pay for a cab.

We will definitely re-book this apartment when we return to Iceland!
