The Viking cottages are located across the harbour from Akureyri and have a great view of the city, the water and the surrounding mountains. Our cottage was clean, modern and very well equipped with a large bathroom, washer/dryer, sit down kitchen, television room and two comfortable bedrooms. There was a deck with a hot tub and gas barbecue. The kitchen had sufficient dishes, cutlery and cooking utensils for making meals. Akureyri is a short drive away for shopping. The television had access to multiple entertainment options and to top it off there was a B&O wireless speaker available. The area is very quiet at night so sleeping with the window open is very pleasant. This is an outstanding property and we would recommend it highly to visitors in the area.
One of the few cottages on the mountain. Stunning views over the mountain and the ocean (bay??). The cottage comes with a hot tub and a barbecue grill. After days of sandwiches, we finally got to eat properly with all the cooking facilities. The inside was very modern and clean. We loved it! Service was great too! Highly recommend.
Very easy to find with parking outside. The most stunning cottage with amazing view. Very modern inside with a double bedroom downstairs and a further one upstairs. Very comfortable beds and great black out blinds. We used the hot tub and all the kitchen facilities. Many birds visited us in the mornings on the decking. A short drive to the Supermarket. Ideal location for exploring the North of the Island. We were here for 3 nights as 2 couples. The bathroom did flood but this was fixed within a few hours. The only things missing were drawers or a cupboard to put clothes in the upstairs bedroom. Also more mirrors as there is only one in the bathroom. Highly recommend and we did not want to leave
My husband and I stayed a week at the beginning of this month, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
The cabin was clean and cozy, perfect for just the two of us! While compact, the space is open, with doors and windows allowing in the light, giving the feel of a larger space. The kitchen does not include an oven (I like to bake), and kitchen tools were the minimum, but they were good quality and enough to allow us to eat morning & evening meals in.
The cabin's location offers gorgeous views of nature, as well as the town of Akureyri, across the fjord. The short drive to town gives access to restaurants & cafes, as well as grocery and liquor stores.
During the day, we visited sites like Godafoss and Dettifoss. At night, we sat in the hot tub and watched the beautiful Northern Lights.
It was pretty much the perfect vacation spot. Benedikt has done a great job in providing a beautiful and relaxing place to unwind and enjoy the natural surroundings. We definitely hope to return in the future!
We stayed 2 nights in this place hoping to see Aurora Borealis.
And even we finally didn't see it - was quite cloudy - were extremely happy to stay there.
Everything in this house is well-thought to make your stay comfortable. Really well-organized and cosy. And really clean.
Just to mention, that the views are amazing.
