I can officially say that this hotel was the best one we stayed in on the island...... and we only stay in five stars. The whole resort was very swish, state of the art gym, fantastic pool/beach bar and a three magnificent pools. The rooms of a hotel were always meant to be the foundation of a resort, these rooms had everything you could want. From three bedrooms in a room right down to one, meaning no trouble to fit the whole family. The restaurant was lovely, i felt it was grossly unfair that some people complained about there only being one restaurant,. But i can tell you one is plenty due to its astronomical menu, every single meal imaginable is packed into it, from massaman nue Thai curry, right to fish and chips and burgers, good ones! We dined in the restaurant every night of our two weeks stay. The resort offers many over services to really maximise your stay, like kids club, lush mandarin spa, shuttle services and many many more. I urge you to stay here as it is the height of luxury in Koh Samui, and can accommodate every age making your stay in paradise that bit better.
Definitely coming back, one of our best holidays, thank you so much!

We stayed here for 6 nights, first impressions are amazing and the standard of the apartments are excellent. The housekeepers do a great job at keeping the apartment spotless everyday. The air conditioning is very good and the beds are very comfortable.

There several pools which are large and water was very clean and clear. They offer some beautiful views, while you cool down. Some of the pool loungers, towels and umbrellas are looking a little past their best. We were a little disappointed that there was not drinks service by the pool which I would expect at a five star resort.

We enjoyed breakfast everyday in the restaurant which had a good selection but we found the drinks service at breakfast a little confusing as I would have expected at least table service for breakfast beverages.

There is no beach at the hotel but a beautiful little cove that you can use the hotel kayaks to explore and you can explore the coastline, the lack of a beach was certainly not a negative for us!

The resort is very remote, the hotel offers shuttle buses to Chewang and Lamai which we used most days but if you don’t want to be tied down to these times using a taxi or NaviGo is a good solution but obviously the cost needs to be considered approximately £10 from Lamai and £20 from Chewang.

There is a great kids club run by Pann, our children enjoyed some time out of the sun in a cool room and thoroughly enjoyed some of the activities. Pann made our daughter a birthday present which was amazing and the hotel produced a birthday cake without any prompting from us which was a lovely touch.

The WiFi was not the best I have experienced but I believe this was due to some electrical issues in the local area during our stay.

We didn’t dine in the restaurant for dinner but did get room service and the standard of the food was very good but quite expensive.

I did raise some of my concerns with the hotel about the pool area equipment, the breakfast service and the WiFi and to their credit they were very quick to respond and act upon my feedback.

If you are looking for a peaceful, relaxed resort with beautiful apartments, pools and views to match and don’t mind being a few miles from anywhere, I would highly recommend the ShaSa.

we (family of 4) stayed a few days in Shasa after arriving in Samui to relax, get over jet lag and avoid the crowds. Very good experience from check in until check out. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

We had a huge family suite with ocean view. Room was beutiful decorated, clean and fully equipped (even with kitchen and washing machine). Hotel has a number of pools so guests spread out and on a few days we literally had a pool of our own. Beach is not for swimming as it is rather rocky.

Food is good but rather pricy compared to the rest of the islands. Hotel offers free shuttle to Lamai in the late afternoon. This would be also the one area of improvement, it would be way more convenient if the shuttle leaves at 5pm instead of 4pm.

Overall, we had a very good time at Shasa.

If you expect Los Vegas excitement this is not the place for you!. Shasa is quiet, relaxed, no rush resort. Not crowded, slightly aged but look close and the entire island is like this. HOWEVER, the Shasa staff are always around, smiling and willing to help with anything. The resort is 'far' from major shops and beaches (15-20 minutes) We hired a car through the resort, yes a bit expensive but no fuss/less stress. We enjoyed the drive to find new places and explore.
The one order we placed for Room service delivery was slow BUT we did order pizza!!!! Western food is not just "whipped up" around here, and with everything made fresh on site, I must acknowledge they did well to try satisfy me. BREAKFAST is to die for though, so much international variety. Get in early, as it fills up quick, and the bacon always gets eaten fast.
Children are mostly entertained here if they like pools or kidsclub. My kids are 7&10 and felt safe to walk down to the beach and explore.
After talking with senior staff we got to know them and the resort better. If we return to Samui we would book at Shasa because of the staff. They are well treated, love their jobs and made our stay unique.Thank you.

Room Tip: Hire a car, and Happy hour by the pool

Lovely, polite, friendly staff greeted us on our arrival. Nothing was too much trouble, from organising a taxi to delivering forgotten clothes to us at our second resort up in the North of the island! We stayed in a 3 bed apartment (122) which was huge with fantastic views & it also had a washing machine & dryer too! Complimentary glass bottles of water delivered everyday when the room was made up & a fully stocked mini bar was also available for a charge. The resort itself was very quiet, we had a pool to ourselves most days! The restaurant was a little on the expensive side but the food was good, again very quiet. I'd say one thing missing was an outside bar to sit & relax at in the evening, so apart from the restaurant that's it for entertainment. The resort is a little remote but taxis are cheap enough, we paid 400/500thb for a family of 5 to Lamai beach where there are plenty of places to eat & an evening market which gets really busy. We chose ShaSa for a relaxing first week & thats exactly what we got, two weeks & I think we would have been bored. There are no big negatives with the resort, my only suggestion would be that its probably due an updated painting scheme, but don't let that put you off. Great place to start our holiday.

Room Tip: Top floors get the best views over the trees!
