A very interesting and quiet place to visit, we went for an adult family walk along the stream to the springs a very natural place and the Sequoia trees are marvellous.Well worth a visit and no charge for Gold Card holders (senior's ) .

i went overthrew at 09.00 am, i was alone, what a beautiful place.
the trip through the sequoias trees is so magical, the sun light give to me the chance to see the real clear water and some beautiful birds, the trail is really easy, you can do it with children.
the water area provides many sceneries, it s really out of time
it s true , it s little bit expensive, 18 NzD per adult but maybe it s the price in order to protect this holy area for Maoris people

We went to this place five years ago. W bought our son and his two children this time. We learnt the history of the place from a lovely friendly lady named kani who had a great sense of humour . It's a place where you will take lots of photos and stop and admire the stunning water and magnificent Redwood trees. Thanks Kani for all your help and advice we appreciated it. We travelled from Australia

Such a pity. Not so long ago we used to walk this beautiful place quite freely. Today we arrived after a while of not visiting only to find we now have to pay $18 entry per adult. While I fully understand the upgrade has cost. This is rather expensive for a short visit. Too expensive for many families. Too add insult to injury there was a note at the gate telling visitors nobody there for 10minutes. Several people have up and left. Our group decided not visit preferring to walk along the lake instead.
