This apartment seemed to be ideal - it was well apportioned, clean, comfortable and ideally placed. But there were a lot of little things that just stopped it being the perfect holiday let.
We have stayed in holiday rentals all over Europe but this was the first one not to have a welcome basket, or even the remains from previous visits, eg coffee, oil etc. On arrival we struggled to find a parking place even remotely near the apartment. We had a code to enter the main building and throughout our week's stay we never got the code to work on one of the two entrances.
The apartment was let to sleep 3/4 and there were two double beds BUT the wardrobe in one bedroom area was full of things marked as PRIVATE. Fortunately there were only two of us but if there had been another member to our party this would not have been very welcoming.
There was building work going on in other apartments which did start quite early in the morning.
The information said that if there was inclement weather we could use the indoor pool at the hotel on the same site. I even bought a swimsuit for this very reason. However when we went to ask if we could do this we were told the pool was closed for refurbishment- and perhaps we'd like to swim in the sea. As the weather was cold, wet and windy at the time this was hardly a helpful suggestion.
It is the sum of all these little things that have really detracted from what should have been a lovely holiday rental.
