“It's All About the Details”

I can't say enough good things about the house. The entire time I was there I was struck by the incredible planning, construction, and furnishing and stocking that went into the house. Truly a vision. The other wonderful thing about the house is its owner, Niko. He is a delightful man who met us at the airport, went grocery shopping with us ("This is the butter you should get"), saw us back to the airport, and was always available by phone. Truly a delightful experience.

“Peaceful Island Paradise”
Reviewed 29 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

Location, location, location -- this beautiful spot, off the beaten track, is a paradise getaway, while having all the comforts of home--including Wifi, computer, TV, music system on the deck, lovely pool, and everything you expect at a luxury hotel, such as comfortable rooms, hair dryers and toiletries.
We were a large family group with adults and children ages 8-12 -- and we all had an amazingly wonderful time at this well-appointed and beautifully located home. We spent most of our time in the outdoor living space, enjoying the pool, bar area, music system, shade and sun & sea views. Plenty of space for everyone to enjoy time all together, in small groups, or alone. The children loved the beach a short drive away. We had several delightful lunches at the Kalados Tavern between swimming sessions. Walking the short distance (15-20 minutes) to the beach from the villa, was a great photo op, with time to luxuriate in the remarkable sea views.
The accommodations are top-notch in every way. Three of the bedrooms have direct access to the outside, which gives everyone a lot of privacy. The two bedrooms in the main house are very private, too--with the master bedroom having a private deck. The smaller bedroom near the kitchen, with its own toilet and shower, is perfect for a teenager or single guest. It would be acceptable for a couple, too, though less sumptuous than the three larger bedrooms. Our three little girls (ages 5-12) were very happy in the fifth bedroom, where they could share the trundle bed and take turns in the "grotto" space, which was in high demand. In addition, a play room can double as a sleeping space, if needed.
Nikos is a terrific host. He helped us stock up on groceries on the first day in Naxos town and the second day in the quaint town of Filoti, nearer to the villa. He guided us on the drive to the secluded location, gave us tips regarding beach access and the local restaurant (Kalados Tavern Cafe), and answered questions at any time by cell phone. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes and cooking utensils--an excellent stove and oven as well as the usual small appliances.
This was a dream vacation in a gorgeous setting with every comfort considered. Lots of steps between levels add to beautiful design, but not for people with disabilities. Get a car with automatic transmission or good clutch (check it) for the curvy mountain drive from Naxos town and unpaved sections of the road near the villa. Well worth the trip.
This was great for children 5 years old plus or families with babies not yet walking. It might be more challenging for families with young toddlers due to stone steps and multiple levels. Same issues for folks with disabilities.
Naxos harbor area and Naxos own have a lot to offer, too. And there are interesting ruins on other parts of the island. But the villa and nearby beach & restaurant are so idyllic, we didn't have any motivation to leave our cozy paradise.

Liked best: A true experience of island tranquility--no crowds, no cruise ships--just beauty
Liked least: Wish we had a car more suited to the mountain drive and unpaved road.

“Simply "Perfect'”

We stayed here for one week with a large group of 6 adults and 4 children.

From the moment we arrived, Niko, the owner, was the most thoughtful, gracious and accommodating host. He met us at the Port, helped us to buy food and supplies and then drove with us to his beautiful property which is situated to the south of the island and has some of the most stunning views of the Aegean I have ever seen
.
The house is wonderful.Tastefully adorned with a very fine attention to detail, with plenty of space for the kids to run around and play, or just enjoy time in his beautiful infinity pool. The Kitchen is perfect for cooking up meals and his outdoor deck is great for just relaxing and looking at the other islands in the distance, watching the moon rise, or gazing at the millions of stars that come out at night.

The beach at Kalando Bay, just 10min walk away, is stunning too. Fine sand with crystal clear water and you can go a considerable ways in before it becomes deep...perfect for kids. It was virtually deserted during our stay there except for some sailboats that came by and anchored there. Alternatively, there is a small cove with a beach just below the house that is perfect for snorkeling.

The house is, however, located about 30 min drive from the nearest town and the last mile or so is over unpaved road.

If you are looking for a quiet. remote area to to enjoy the company of family and good friends with a great beach and unrivaled views of Greece, in the comfort of a beautiful home, this is the place for you. I have stayed at many Villas in the past and I can say my stay here was the best I have ever experienced.

This was a wonderful Villa that was well thaught out by its wonderful owner Nicos. We were a total of 8 and there was plenty of room for all.Nicos was so helpful. The Villa sits up on a mountain on the remote south end of Naxos. The views of the ocean from Villa breathtaking.House had plenty of amenities.Outdoor pool was beautiful. There is an outdoor wet bar with 2 mini fridges that were very useful.Seating area for plenty under bamboo ceiling and another seating area for morning breakfast.Best area was off of kitchen and dining area.Beautiful spot for nighttime relaxing and star gazing. There is a walkway that leads down mountainside right into ocean.Water was beautiful. We had a fantastic time.It is in a very remote area so if you are looking to enjoy family and friends and beautiful views then this is a very warm place.Closest town for shopping is Filotti which is about 40 Minutes through some steep winding roads which was only downfall. If your looking for a place to relax stock up on goods and you will be fine. There is a restaurant 3 minutes called Kalandos Tavern and Cafe with is family run from their home which was really nice and well worth it.Anna is wonderful.Nicos thank you so much we really enjoyed our stay..
