We stayed here for one night in June of 2017 during a month-long trip to Italy and Greece. The area is cool (close to Verkiza Beach) but this hotel is in dire need of some TLC. It feels like a hybrid between an old hotel and a hostel and needs a good scrubbing. The beach area is only about a ten-minute walk and public transit is available nearby. Our room had a kitchenette which would have come in handy if we'd needed it. The X96-97 bus to the airport is close by and very convenient. This place needs a facelift big time and we won't be back until that happens.

Room Tip: Stay away from the pool area. People were talking loudly most of the night where we were there.

We stayed last night here. The apartment had 2 bedrooms, a kitchen, and a family room with sofas and 2 single beds. It also had a big terrace. The personnel were extra nice! Our room was ready when we arrived even though we were there before our check in time.
This morning we went to the Acropolis, and got stuck in traffic in our way back, therefore we were late for check out, but the lady at the front lady was very nice to us and receive our key with a smile. On top of that, my husband forgot to load the paddle board (which was in a big black bag) and forgot it by a tree on the sidewalk. I called the hotel and asked them to go outside and grab it for me, and she did. I was happy to see that they still had it, my husband was already upset thinking that it may have been gone already.
The area were the hotel is seems to be pretty safe. Yesterday we walked to the beach to have lunch (1/2 mile). There are restaurants and markets close by, but you'll need a car to move around beyond that.
I should add, that the apartment had ac working properly, enough towels and shampoo for a whole family of 5. It was clean and had everything we needed.
I didn't like the bed, but my husband said it was ok for him, so I guess I'm pickier than him on that.
It has a pool that is open until late at night, which is nice if you have kids who cannot wait until the next day to jump in.
This is not a luxury hotel, but it is big and clean.

walking distance to Varikza beach, and very quiet area. VERY FAR from central athens (about hour by bus/train/ or cab) by north American standards this hotel is a 3 . The view from balcony and proximity to beach were nice but building is very old and somewhat run down. You can only catch the elevator at the main floor bc the buttons at each floor are broken. While staff at front desk spoke and understood and we're able to amply communicate in English I was often given incorrect information.

Dear Mrs. Rena,

Thank you for the detailed feedback. Travel times to Athens central can vary depending on traffic, but by cab is no more than half an hour.

Our elevator was just renovated this March, and while the cab is callable from all floors, it is true that the older call buttons from the other floors have not yet been replaced as the one in the ground floor - this will be completed by the end of the month.

I will also be checking with my front desk to see what kind of information was given as we always try to give concise and simple information to our guests in full knowledge of the complexities that can arise from new environments and systems as we ourselves experience them when we travel abroad.

Once again, we thank you for the kind feedback, and we hope we can provide you with an even better experience in the future.

Kind regards,
Iason Hatzitheodorou

A lovely week has been had in Varkiza! Hotel Good bits: Clean sheets and towels daily, the room servicing is short and sweet. The apartment (family suite) was roomy and functional for what we needed, cooking facilities, microwave, hob, grill/combi, beds were comfy, ample seating and nice balcony. The pool and bar were kept clean and tidy and you have use until 11pm. Good links to Athens (45min) Varkiza beach is a must!!

The staff at the hotel are wonderful, very helpful, very friendly and we'll worth coming back to see!!

Not so good bits..... The hotel is a little (lot ) dated and in need of some all round tlc. The floors etc in the apartment were quite dirty, no like dustpan or broom to even keep clean yourself. Crockery, Pots and pans have seen better days, and we had to scrub everything in the kitchen when we arrived( all a bit yuck)

It did everything we needed it to do for the week, and not at a crazy price for an apartment, but it's not exactly like the pictures, so when you get here, don't be too shocked. Well worth a trip, and despite the above, should we be passing this way as a family again - Apollonian hotel it will be!
