Great location

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 3 weeks agovia mobile
Great location at Syntagma right in between funky Plaka and Monastiraki. Everything is truly in walking distance, from the Acropolis to the Olympic Stadium, you name it. Superb staff and service. Could use a renovation of the rooms though.

We had a large group staying for 2 nights, Aug 26/24-Aug 28/24. Our A/C in the room would cool and shut down continuously, we had service up 4 times in between sight seeing. The temperature in our room would get to 28 degrees between resets. After being reassured it was fixed we returned to the room at 11:15 pm on night 2 to find the room 28 degrees, the man at the desk told us to open the window (it was 30 degrees outside), also said they could move us to another hotel (we were with 30 other people and it was late at night) we refused and they came up and reset the unit, locked the settings and said It was fixed. I woke a few hours later and the Room was 28 degrees and the system was locked!
So incredibly frustrating, lack of sleep and very uncomfortable to rest.
Food in the morning was excellent. Location excellent. Comfort and problem solving an absolute sub par experience. This hotel is top tier with low tier caring about our comfort. The response from the hotel when I complained is a 12% discount another time in Greece. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone nor stay there for that matter. We were exhausted trying to sleep in a 28 degree room.
Choose another central hotel, they're all lovely.

Room tip: Pools are at another hotel, not always room available. Central location, poor service with issue

Dear 479trudyh,

Thank you for choosing our property and for taking the time to share your feedback.

We are glad that you enjoyed the quality of our breakfast buffet and our central location.
In response to the incident you mention, allow us to clarify that from the moment you brought this matter to our attention, our team has been on top of it. The bellhops and the maintenance team visited your room 4 times and gave you instructions on the use of the Air condition highlighting the importance of the placement of the card in order for the device to stay on. The misuse resulted to the reset of the Air condition and since the hotel was fully occupied unfortunately, as an ultimate solution the Reception offered to move you with our compliments to our 5-star sister hotel The Electra Palace, the hotel being a 5 minute walk from the property. As a gesture of good will and for the inconvenience caused during your stay, we offered a discount to be used in your next visit.

If you would like to further discuss your concerns, our Guest Relations team is always at your disposal and hope to regain your trust and welcome you back for a more memorable stay.

Sincerely,

First visit to Athens family of four with 2 kids so wanted to stay somewhere central. Location is great - very close to attractions and surrounded by a variety of shops and restaurants. Be aware of pick pockets - had €€ stolen on my first day - police don’t care. Hotel interior is quite drab and the rooms we had were VERY outdated and in need of some serious upgrades. Value for money not good because of this. Breakfast however was very good and the views were amazing. Lots of options to choose from.

Room tip: Beware of pick pockets who are active in the area

It was our third visit ün 3 years. One for business two others for pleasure. Each one was perfect. It is very clean, central, and friendly. Grateful to chefs at roof restaurant with signature fish dishes, chef Istanbulis for his friendşy service and receptionist who are always perfect in early arrival notices to arrange the rooms and even kept the track of us when we were late to out teserved taxi since our concert was a bit delayed. Everything is always perfect!!!!! Greetings from Istanbul Turkey…❤️

I arrived after midnight and the staff was very attentive and accommodating. The front desk staff was very professional. The room was comfortable and had a large balcony with beautiful views. Breakfast was delicious and was on the rooftop overlooking the Acropolis.

Room tip: The location is ideal to everything. Gets very busy in the evening. Attractions near by and full of restaurants and shops.

The Electra Hotel Athens is located perfectly for the sights of Athens ( the Acropolis can be clearly seen from the breakfast restaurant on the top floor ( great breakfast) and all surrounding sights are within walking distance): the train from the airport ( Syntagma station) is close; the shops:Ermou Rd ( where it is located) and Stadiou have everything; and quaint restaurants and gift shops ( La Plaka) are all within a short walk.
The staff at the hotel were incredibly helpful - Mr Joseph particularly went out of his way to help us resolve a logistical issue we had. The accommodation was great (including dressing gowns and slippers supplied). We will definitely return to this hotel when we return to Athens
