Male staff in reception and restaurant were disinterested and rude. Female staff were excellent. Our meal was nice but I had to go and get the menus. I think the cook brought out the main meal and had no idea how to place the plates. Plates with leftovers were piled up on a table where you paid and the disinterested waiter coerced us into a 10% tip although I tried to refuse citing poor service.
We won’t eat there again. Although the surrounding area is grungy there are a couple of restaurants that look ok on the street
I think there is a small clicky group of entitled male staff causing all the problems and poor service. They would be a nightmare to work with. I feel sorry for the female staff working with them. They were professional and doing their best.

BED BUGS!!!!!!! I stayed there 1 night and was bitten so bad by bed bugs. I realized that on my flight back so didn't complain to the hotel. I got back home and had to call professional to spray my house and luggage. Surely enough they found bed bugs in my luggage. I contacted the hotel (sent 3 emails) but never heard back. I called customer service in the US and didn't get help. I really wanted them to be aware and treat the room. Very poor customer service.

We were on a business trip, the hotel was near where we needed to be for work. We were working long hours and the rooftop bar and restaurant at the end of the day was really really great. However, the area around the hotel was absolutely awful and I would not recommend it for a recreational visit. Our clients ( Athens locals) begged us not to go outside the hotel unless we were getting in a taxi. The rooms were spacious but varying in quality but I did feel really safe and comfortable in the hotel. Fine for business but nit for a holiday

Dear Guest,

Thank you for staying at Wyndham Grand Athens and for taking the time to rate your experience with us. Regarding the location, Metaxourgeio is one of the oldest neighborhoods of Athens that during the last years has been reconstructed and evolved into one of the most developing districts of Athens with excellent bars, awarded restaurants and several theaters such as the National Theatre. Wyndham Grand Athens is very lucky to have a property in the heart of Athens and a very strategic location just a few steps from “Metaxourgeio” metro station that brings our guests very close to must-see attractions. We hope that despite the inconveniences we can welcome you back again in the future to ensure a much more satisfactory stay.

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. From the moment we arrived there were 2 bellman/doorman standing around. They didn’t even acknowledge us and had to carry our bags ourselves. When we got to our room, well, the pictures speak for themselves. Forget the terrible neighborhood. The hotel itself is a disaster. Just plain nasty. We booked for 1 night so we could sleep before our flight out at 6 am. Stayed here 9 hours. Never again for this hotel or ANY Wyndham property. 5 stars? Not even 1!!! $300 a night???? Save yourself the aggravation and health hazard. We would have booked somewhere else but with the terrible neighborhood and it being almost 10pm, we decided to rough it for one night. Shame on you Zeus management and Wyndham for lending your name to this poor excuse of a hotel.

Room tip: STAY AWAY!!!
