Absolutely the best interior in Porto, great experience, shocked in gold, you must to see! Go there very early (from 9:00 am)

I can’t argue that the interior of this church is magnificent. Somehow I was uncomfortable here as the staff seemed so unwelcoming and rude. You’re instructed not to do this or that but encouraged to pay and buy. I and my husband did many things in Porto and found all of them enjoyable and great value. This was the only exception sadly

The cathedral looks like an old, average church from outside but when I entered inside, it completely blew my mind. The art inside is exceptional and worth a visit.

We’re really glad we visited this gorgeous church and the catacombs in its basement. Pictures and video aren’t permitted within the ornate Main Chapel, but it’s a memorable experience to just be in the amazing space to soak in the intricate wood carvings and abundant gold leaf. One of my favorite items in the adjacent museum was a fascinating gallery of menus of meals that had been served across different time periods.

This was a perfect rainy day activity when we were in Porto - but we still would have made time for a visit, even if the weather had been sunnier.
