Old world hotel in central location in Porto. Great for walking and exploring the city. Room was pretty small, but normal by European standards. Breakfast was a highlight, set in gorgeous high ceiling mirrored dining room with an extensive range of choices. A bit noisy late at night on weekends due to proximity to bars and restaurants but to be expected in a central city location.

Enjoyed three nights in this well positioned hotel. Arrived by car and concierge immediately organised our bags and sorted the parking for us. Check in efficient and friendly. Very spacious quiet room beautifully appointed and antique furnishings throughout the hotel.
Reataurante Book enjoyable for dinner. The Courtyard for breakfast, cocktails or afternoon tea very pleasant. Made our stay in Porto

Just stayed for one night there...the services are good but not excellent. I do like the location. It's a nice change after two nights by the river. We weren't greeted with welcome drinks. Not sure why. The room is small and dated but the dining room and courtyard are beautiful.

Centrally located for easy walking to most of Porto sights. The lovely old woods, staircase, tiny elevator, formal dining area all reminiscent of greater days. I understand it will undergo a major refurbishment and am anxious to see the changes but it still has a lot of class and character not found everywhere. Staff very helpful and friendly. Loved the buffet breakfast, lots to choose from.

We recently visited Madrid, Sevilla, Barcelona, Lisbon and Porto this hotel was our pick for the best of the places we stayed. It is classic old world elegance that has been updated with modern conveniences. The pictures on the website are spot on. That is exactly the way the rooms and hotel look only it's better when you're living in the pictures.
The restaurant is excellent. Possibly one of the best restaurants in Porto. They also have a superlative breakfast buffet.
The manager was very helpful arranging a wine tasting, lunch and boat tour in Douro.
My only criticism is that if you have a car access to the hotel is poor. You have to park a long distance from the hotel and have the staff help you get your bags from the car to the hotel. The staff will then park the car for you, but whole process is very inconvenient.
