Beautifully renovated apartments right in the best part of Porto, we had a corner apartment with a great 180 degree view. Staff were excellent and really helpful. Delicious restaurant downstairs too. There's construction work going on across the street but it didn't bother us. Would definitely recommend - great value for money.

These are incredibly stylish apartments; spacious, lightfilled and with really high ceilings. They come in a variety of sizes and to get full descriptions you should go to their own wesite: www.oportotouristapartments.com. Our apartment was on the 2nd floor and had 6 huge floor-to-ceiling french windows leading on to a narrow iron balcony overlooking the little square; it came equipped with all modcons.....a small kitchenette was enclosed in a cuboard, and the bathroom was well sized and modern, the bedroom was large and the bed really comfortable.

Location though is the biggest plus of the apartments.................they lie about exactly halfway between the riverfront and the commercial centre of the city, roughly 5/8 mins walk to each area,depending on whether you are walking down or uphill! There is a good little supermarket less than 100m downhill to the left, and a bakery the same distance towards the right, so there no problem getting some essentials.

There are 2 big potential problems associated with these apartments though;
1. There is no elevator and the stairs are quite steep, so try to get an apartment on a lower floor if this could be a problem for you.
2. For me the biggest problem was the traffic noise......several roads all converge on this little square, gears are changing as they take on the next incline and the windows (single-glazed) are totally inadaquate in blocking any of this noise, although the shutters do help muffle it somewhat. Traffic starts early in the morning, so unless you are a sound sleeper you are going to be woken! I will qualify this by admitting that i am a light sleeper who is also unused to city noise.

Room Tip: Check out their own website and email directly for help choosing the apartment which best suits your needs. We found Mafalda very helpful.
